This story is inspired by A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The characters are the same, but the story is different. Very different. In this version of A Christmas Carol Marley is alive and kicking, encouraging and helping Scrooge to be that much meaner. Double trouble. The original paranormal Christmas fantasy. A NEW VERSION of A Christmas Carol. Scrooge is meaner than ever but so are the ghosts. "Not to be missed." Dianne's review Nov 07, 155 of 5 starsbookshelves: author-review, author-gift, great-dialogue, holiday-theme, own Read in November, 2015 - I own a copyA.J. Gallant tackles a brave venture in his version of the events that changed Ebenezer Scrooge and he has come out a victor A New Version of A Christmas Carol, adds more color, more characters and, more ghosts Meet this version of Scrooge, along with his partner in nastiness, Marley as they revel in destroying lives, and pinching every penny until it turns blue. Bob Cratchet is still working for them, and Tiny Tim is just as ill, just as adorable and kind-hearted, but we also get to see him as a little boy, longing for friends and to be able to have snowball fights like the other boys. This Scrooge is not visited by three ghosts; he gets several, revealing just how awful he was. Will this Scrooge see the error of his ways before it's too late or will he succumb to the darkness waiting gleefully to torture him for eternity? What secrets do Scrooge and Tim share?A.J. Gallant has taken a wonderful tale and given it a more dramatic spin, while applying his own brand of darkness, charm and fantasy. Well-told, with a few surprises along the way, this is like a new and improved version of a timeless classic, with more ghosts, more life altering events, all while keeping in the spirit of the season. Get to know each character better, while you are at it Most of the characters are back in this NEW version of A Christmas Carol. The story's delivery is different than the original though just as entertaining. Marley is alive and just as cantankerous as Scrooge, feeding off one another and making everyone around them miserable. Even grave robbing is not too dastardly for these two.
Author A.J. Gallant opening line of his latest action-packed fantasy novel is perfect. "The desert was as deadly as she was beautiful." This is no ordinary desert, rather one with changing shapes, scorpions the size of horses, and giant 36 foot snakes that pop up from under the sands and can swallow a camel whole and snap a man's body in half. It's a magical desert that shows no mercy to the mighty barbarian Braeden as he crosses it on his horse, Finn--not your ordinary horse. The warrior is a magnificent, muscled specimen weaned on swords and sorcery, perhaps enough to conquer the she-devil desert--perhaps not.Meanwhile Azalea, a warrior as beautiful as Braeden is handsome, makes her way across the desert and comes across a small enchanted village with its own resident witch. The Red Dragon tattooed on her signifies that she is more than just a pretty face.Braeden and his sarcastic friend, Zack are searching for The Forbidden City while Azalea is on her own quest equally as treacherous and she rides alone--well almost. An exceptionally smart Siamese cat tries to lead her to safety; surely a magical cat, who leads her through bizarre and strange places as the warrior pursues her quest.Author A.J. Gallant writes a fast-paced fantasy filled with giants, witches, spells, a neurotic dragon, and just about everything readers enjoy in this genre. His characters are realistic, at least the human ones, and readers are drawn into this story. While YA's will love this book, the excessive violence, sex and profanity make it better for adult reading, especially with the author's penchant for sardonic, dry humor.

Gallant will take you away from your everyday reality and hold you captive to an amazing tale with his ingenious writing style "I don't usually read fantasy, but I started reading a sample of this book and loved the story so much I got the whole book. It starts with a horrific battle scene, between a awful King who loves bloodshed and wants to dominate every kingdom around him. There is one kingdom that is protected by a wizard, and that King is a kind ruler. I loved his family: Alexa his daughter and a awesome warrior, and his young son Marcus who is so inquisitive that he befriends a dragon. The dragons are wonderful, funny, cute and fierce. The knights are brave and each personality stands out. Storytelling at its best." Pamela Barrett In a land transformed by magic, a land of shifting landscape and other magical realms, a boy is transformed into a sorcerer before his time. And to save his kingdom he must learn fast, but not a single spell has worked for him. As he sleepwalks, he conjures, making everyone run away, having transformed his father the king into a chicken for a brief period. He might be too dangerous for King Darrius to allow his son to remain in Leeander. He's a TarCranian Wizard of the highest power He's distracted enough without adding a female to grab his attention, but Raina's beautiful face captures him. Marcus befriends a dragon named Ryxa, and when she discovers his quandary she has the idea to hire knights to save his kingdom. And so the adventure begins ... 5.0 out of 5 stars Love these Dragons Love this tale Knights of the Dragon When an exceptional baby dragon is born will he change everyone's destiny? Gallant is another of his "guided tours" into a land full of fantasy, magic, dragons and knights from long ago. Often humorous, sometimes sweet, this adventure will carry its reader off into another land and another time. Marcus is a delightfully caring character, still fumbling through his youth. His perseverance to control his magic is actually quite admirable and the bravery he shows, remarkable."
