Her name is X213 and she lives in a society where technological advancement is the highest form of achievement of man, and the highest purpose of man is to further its development, making us more than human. But the technology she has worked so hard to improve is killing her. His name is Samuel and he has rejected the world of the Technophiles, even at the cost of losing his own family. But Samuel is not one to sit idly by. His mission is to help rescue those trapped in their world where man meets machine. And then he meets X213.

All I wanted to do was stay in my room and fold my origami animals and bring them to life. All I wanted was peace and quiet. Until someone threatened to destroy everyone I love, even my home town of 5 1/2 million people. I'm just a quiet Korean kid, but now they've asked me to save the world. What would you do? -Han Han, with the help of Tracy, Andy, and Guido have been called upon again because of their special gifts. This time the threat comes from a space station that has control of a weapon which can destroy any city at the press of a button, and the city up next is Han's home. They race the clock as they hurl through space to try to stop this weapon and those who control it.

Let me tell you how it all started. At first there were four of us. Tracy could set anything on fire just by thinking about it, Guido had the gift of invisibility (sort of), Han could fold origami and bring it to life, and then there's me. All I can do is make people like me. Even it it's against their will I hate that. How do I know who my real friends are? Or my enemies? -Andy 10-Year-old Andy, along with a few others his age, have magical gifts no one can explain. But when someone bombs his school and kidnaps him, he soon learns that the reason for all of this is his unusual gift. There are other gifted kids that have appeared in recent days and now there is a heated war between two sides to see who will have control over The Gifted. Soon, he and three others are sent on a mission to a small island to investigate what has happened to the other kidnapped children, leading them into a world of magic and machines, and finally to a secret island training facility for others like them. In the end, it's not what's on the island that is the most dangerous, but what's hidden underneath it

If I had known what it would cost me, I'm still not sure I would have gone searching for the tsunami making machine. Even though it might have cost thousands of lives, all I know is that in the end it cost me dearly. I still have bad dreams about what occurred down there. -Tracy It all started out on a vacation, but when a tsunami ravages their tropical island, Tracy, Guido, Andy, and Han must do anything they can to survive, and in so doing, discover that this natural disaster isn't so natural after all. To unravel the mystery behind these occurrences, they will travel to the deepest parts of the ocean, facing enemies at every turn, both human and non-human, facing some of their deepest fears.

H662 has always tried to be a part of the solution, working hard for society and the goals given him by the government. Now he is beginning to see the tragic outcomes of his society, until he wavers on a knife edge of decision. U2258 works in the largest building in the city, helping to bioengineer the future. But the current experiment has gone horribly wrong and it seems the government has decided not only to cover up their mistake, but they are going to put it into production, endangering everyone who will receive the upgrade. These two, and others like them, launch out to find a place where they can get away from a world out of control. Finding in the end that the best way out, is by going back in.
