Little Garlic is a delightful way to inspire children with spiritual wisdom. The stories evoke Richard Bach's Illusions and Antoine de Saint-Exup ry's The Little Prince, with a young protagonist "Little Garlic" and his guide "Onion," whose layered wisdom provides a passageway to spiritual discovery for all ages.Little Garlic will nurture a feeling of being at home in the universe. ADVANCE PRAISE"Nothing exists like this book by Avideh Shashaani. Nothing like it has ever been written before-pure-original-tender-imaginative-free of author ego-it feels as if it comes not from human hands, but instead from kindness, spirit and air." Grace Cavalieri, Maryland Poet Laureate"The world-through your witness-has nothing to lose and everything to gain." Richard Rohr, Founder, Center for Action and Contemplation, Internationally Recognized Author and Spiritual Leader"Avideh Shashaani has written a family story that surpasses the standard of a myth. Here, welcome into a timeless spiritual parable, as old as the protagonist 'Garlic, ' who faces steep challenges to then discover deeper realities, all through a process of peeling back layers of truth by the guide, 'Onion, ' the Virgil of our story." Lisa Miller, Ph.D., Author of The Awakened Brain: The New Science of Spirituality and Our Quest for an Inspired Life and The Spiritual Child: The New Science of Parenting for Health and Lifelong Thriving; Professor of Psychology and Education, Founding Director, The Spirituality and Mind Body Institute, Teachers College, Columbia University "A spiritual bridge between the young and old. The book reminds us that true words of spiritual wisdom appeal to all ages." Rob Lehman, Trustee, Fetzer Institute
