CHOICES is a novel that centers around a small fictitious town in South Carolina, Reedy View, in 1975. But the story begins long before the women's movement in the 1970s. It begins with Jessie Jordan's grandmother and mother. The decisions, the choices, that shape a child's life, that sometimes change everything and sometimes nothing. When the first female uniformed patrol officer in Reedy View begins to see her life spiraling out of control and starting to resemble the calls she answers on the street, she must learn that strong women can be weak and at their weakest, become their strongest.

The first time I personally encountered Jesus was September 30, 1982. I was unemployed from a bank consulting job that had just ended. I went to a bookstore to look for a book on how to find my life's purpose. I looked in the self-help, psychology and religion sections. Disappointed at not finding what I thought I needed, I began to walk away. Suddenly, as I passed the occult section, which as a Christian I would normally avoid, a book flew off the top shelf and landed on the floor in front of me. The name of the book was Psychic Energy. The book did not aesthetically appeal to me, but the circumstances of it flying through the air caused me to purchase it, against my better judgment. On the drive home from the bookstore, I made an agreement with God that I would only open the book to one page, like we used to do with the Bible, when we sought answers. I would close my eyes and open this book and expect whatever God wanted to tell me would be on one page.

Meditation and the gift of discernment are the two greatest gifts I've ever given myself and they both cost me nothing other than the willingness and the bravery to agree to know the purpose of my life. I consider direct soul communication to be the most valuable tool we can attain to live a sane, happy and spiritually directed life. It is extremely important we become aware of our thoughts, feelings and emotions and to understand we have the power to control and change all of these. It is easier to do once we have the conscious assistance of our soul through soul communication. It is important to understand the information given to us by our souls is not an order, but merely a suggestion, and the soul, God, will never take away our free will even when we deliberately turn our will over to God.Our goal needs to be to listen vertically before we act horizontally. Thinking means to create, to be. That is why it is very important to know how to meditate, how to create pure and divine thought forms to increase vitality and health for onesself, Humanity and nature.

Our Universe is perfectly balanced by natural and spiritual Laws. These Laws maintain an order we have a tendency to take for granted. We can consciously learn these Laws. If we learn these Laws, we can also learn to live in alignment with them and have order in our lives. We live on a dualistic and physical planet. Because of this, we often find ourselves faced with seeming paradoxes, caughtin an endless loop of contradictions. However, it is important to remember, what we sow in consciousness, we reap. If we turn on a tape recorder and record our voice, when we play it back, what we hear will be our own voice saying exactly what we said. If we plant a spinach seed, spinach will grow, not a cauliflower. The same is true with our words and thoughts. What we think and say becomes our reality. We can depend on these Laws and use them, or we can remain ignorant and confused and pretend our life is happening to us randomly. We can only pretend not to be in control. Scientists have worked to prove the Laws of Physics, the laws affecting our physical Universe, without considering Spiritual Law or the fact that we are a self-evolving species, and that our thoughts control our lives and our evolution. They work to convince us that we live in a World where everything takes place in relationship to Deterministic Laws that unfold in linear time and are unresponsive to Human thoughts or affairs. Scientists, until they developed the chaos theory, have said that chance events only produce patterns that are random, and to see meaning in such patterns is as pointless as looking for messages in the interference that we call "snow" which, at certain times, appears on a television screen. To believe that certain chance events are a manifestation of some underlying pattern of Nature, or are the result of "a causal connecting principle," would be utter nonsense to most scientists. Scientists are, however, beginning to suspect that even chaos has a pattern.

ACCEPT―BELIEVE―KNOW―RELAX―HAVE FAITH It has only been lately that scientists probing at the elemental substance of nature have yielded us the knowledge that mass and density are purely relative. The astounding discovery of science that there is no such thing as a solid mass has revised the thinking of the world. The only difference between us and what we think of as physical objects is our form of consciousness. There is only one substance from which everything physical is made, there is only one substance from which energy is made and this energy, or substance, is infinite in time and space; it has no beginning and no end and, thus, is everywhere at all times, and all of it is anywhere at any time. There is only one substance or energy or Intelligence in all things. Everything is basically one thing, has no beginning and no end, and has no past and no future, but only one eternal now. The Subconscious Mind reacts entirely by suggestion and has no volition of its own. It does not by itself make choices, indulge in arguments, postulate theories, search for answers, wonder at possibilities. It only accepts and acts on suggestions from the Conscious Mind. It acts on those thoughts behind which there is the most conviction.
