There are Native American folklore stories in Wigwam Evenings of different types, each of which has its prototype or parallel in the nursery tales of other nations. The animal fables of the philosophic red man are almost as terse and satisfying as those of Aesop, of whom they put us strongly in mind. A little further on we meet with brave and fortunate heroes, and beautiful princesses, and wicked old witches, and magical transformations, and all the other dear, familiar material of fairy lore, combined with a touch that is unfamiliar and fascinating.

A poodle of many disguises, Flash experiences Halloween as a trick or treater. A frolic through the neighborhood with friends, collecting candy and showing off costumes, leads Flash on an adventure filled with surprises and even a fireworks display to top things off. Flash finds changing costumes and fooling everyone to be an exciting and a spirited way to enjoy the holiday, as long as it doesn't get too dark out

I committed my life to Christ as a teen. I can remember attending a revival at my church. My church was Zion Temple First Pentecostal Church at that time. My bishop was Bishop Jasper J. Phillips. That night, I was so moved by what I heard, I decided to give my life to Christ. I can look back now, and it was the best decision that I made to date. I started on my journey to live for Christ. I was in the choir. I joined the Bible Bowl Team, where we studied certain topics and themes from the Bible. I also entered a biblical essay contest. I won an award for my entry. I want to note that the Bible Bowl and essay contest were part of the International Young People's Pentecostal Assembly of the World. This is where each church in our district competed against each other. These were friendly competitions. This was very helpful in learning and understanding God's word. In this competition, we had great, spirit-filled coaches and counselors who encouraged us to study.

Time Being, as in for the time being, written in, around, from a perspective (visual and otherwise) of home, a place of some incidents, knowing a home is connected to a world of homes and gardens and other (all other) places. These are poems begun in a time of pandemic, though that time, as all times, continues. So, for the time being . . .
