Protective Custody: Prisoner 34042 is a raw new play, written by Charles LaBorde, and adapted from well-known Charlotte, North Carolina, Holocaust survivor Dr. Susan Cernyak-Spatz's memoir. The two-woman play captures Susan's riveting personal experiences as a young woman in the Auschwitz-Birkenau internment camps. The play presents in vivid detail both her youth in Central Europe, her two harrowing years in the death camp, and her ultimate liberation. While rich in its horrific story, this script ultimately focuses on the ability to survive through one's sheer will to live. This Memorial Edition contains an additional final scene added to the play following the death of Dr. Cernyak-Spatz.

Affinity tells of the early years of the career of celebrated architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, including the beginnings of his growth to fame, his first marriage, his trials as he became a famous designer of homes, and the dissolution of his marriage after beginning an affair with one of his clients. The play begins in 1937 with the construction of Taliesin West in Arizona and then retells the years from 1888 until the events of 1914 that led to the destruction of the first Taliesin in Wisconsin.The cast consists of three principal men, two principal women, one boy, one girl, and a chorus of four men and two women. "Holocaust Duet" tells the story of two youths caught up in the horror that was Auschwitz-Birkenau. The two characters are depicted both as aging adults looking back on their survival and as their youthful personas living the horrors first-hand. Also included is the original award-winning play, "Testament,"--the source material for "Holocaust Duet." It is a longer variation on the same idea with a larger cast of characters.

"Memorial" is an amazingly powerful play set against the background of the dedication ceremonies for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in 1982. A continual barrage of short scenes, unforgettable images, and horrific moments on a bare stage create a mosaic that makes the war in Vietnam and the men and women who fought it devastatingly real. Based largely on interviews conducted by the author with veterans of the war, the play remains the definitive theatricalization of the Vietnam experience.The play has a cast of 4 women and 6 men, but variation is possible both in gender and in size of the cast. "Courage" is a vivid theatrical adaptation of Stephen Crane's masterpiece of the Civil War, "The Red Badge of Courage." The play captures all the horror, humor, and moral ambivalence that are the hallmark of Crane's original. Told largely through language captured from the original novel, "Courage" is the stage version of the novel that most closely follows the original and brings the life of the common soldier of the Civil War starkly and painfully alive.
