Christopher Morgan writes with keen critical insight on the controversial poet R. S. Thomas, considered to be one of the leading writers of the twentieth century. This is the first book to treat Thomas's entire oeuvre and will prove to be an indispensible guide and companion to the complete poems. The book is divided into three parts, each of which interprets the development of a major theme over Thomas's twenty-seven volumes, probing particular themes and particular poems with a meticulous insight. The book also treats Thomas's work as a complex and interrelated whole, as a body of work that comprises a single artistic achievement, and assesses that achievement within the context of an array of major literary figures from Montaigne to Seamus Heaney and Wallace Stevens. R. S. Thomas: Identity, environment, deity proves invaluable as a beginner's introduction to the Welsh poet, as a student's guide to critical thinking about the poet's work, and as a provocative new step in scholarly studies. An electronic edition of this book is freely available under a Creative Commons (CC BY-NC-ND) licence.

Bullying is a silent epidemic. Many unfortunate consequences occur for bullied individuals that bullies do not think about when they are in the act. In fourth grade I encountered my first real classroom bully. Living in a underprivileged urban neighborhood, presented me with more moments of being bullied and harassment too. Adulthood has opened up a clear window, into my childhood. Fighting does not solve all of your problems. In our society, there are educational resources for youth, schools and parents. The hope will be finding ways toward bully prevention.

The true story of an extraordinary friendship In the summer of 1992, Christopher Morgan, a farmer, joined a penfriend scheme whose aim was to give prisoners a window on the world. He was allocated Tom Shannon, a lifer, inside for murder. Through their correspondence, a strong and honest friendship developed between the two men whose lives were poles apart. Never intended for publication, the authenticity of these letter is all the more powerful and convincing. Whilst portraying the grim reality of prison life in Britain in the 1990s, they also reassure us that friendship and respect can prevail in the most unlikely circumstances. Royalties from the publication of the Invisible Crying Tree helped to found Shannon Trust, a national charity unlocking the power of reading for people in prison.'A small gem of a book.' Marie Claire 'A remarkable insight into prison conditions and human nature...The murderer, defying a poor education...finds an eloquent voice which rings with poetry, humour and a moral certitude.' Sunday Times 'A truly revealing insight into the mind and existence of a "lifer." A sensitive and telling dialogue between an understanding outsider and a man condemned to life inside prison.'
