The ever lovable gentle-bug, Mr. H.M. Wogglebug T.E. explains how to have the best manners as he demonstrates such while going through an entire day that is typical for him to in Genoma. He has a picnic with Sylvie and the Frogman, goes on a visit with them to the Cuttenclips. All while demonstrating how to give compliments, eat politely, help friends to resolve an argument, use a handkerchief, and how giving hugs say "I love you."

Seven-year-old Sylvie Harnois lives a lonely life as a child in foster care. Then one day a mysterious librarian at her school gives her a strange book with a key attached to it. The next day she is adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Martin and finds the key leads her to open a hidden magical portal in her new home's attic. She enters the land of Genoma where she first meets Mr. H.M. Wogglebug T.E. who is a highly magnified insect who has just been thoroughly educated. He is polite, kind, and friendly and Sylvie makes fast friends with him. Then on learning she is lost in this new world he vows to help her return to her own. He brings her to the castle where King Ethano and Queen Lexia send them on a quest to rescue the Enchanted Forest from a menacing villain named Antibo, a demented gnomic lord who wants to change the laws of nature with his new world order of magic which will only do harm to the forest and the residents of it. Mr. Wogglebug together with little Sylvie must somehow convince all of the dwellers of the Enchanted Forest, including the elves, the pixies, and guardians of the four corners, to unite and overthrow Antibo from from his power.At the same time Mr. Wogglebug must also demonstrate his own intellectual prowess to win the respect of all of them by applying the Seven Living Values of Intelligence. Which are honesty, courtesy, kindness, loyalty, courage, perseverance, and humility. None of them he believes should be hard for him to accomplish being thoroughly educated, should they?

In searching for a remedy the clues to it point to a fourteen-year-old girl in Ohio named Terry who has her own troubles. When she is transported to Oz, she reveals to them the legend of the Fountain of the Pure Waters of Healing, which can cure any ailments of any living creature. The three of them set out together on a quest to reach this in hopes of it curing the Frogman's curse. Along their way they journey through the uncharted Island of the Silver Monkeys, the Mountain of Impossible Dreams. They also enter the valley of darkness where they must face their fears before they can reach the valley of light again and encounter the Troll Wizards of Genoma who help their quest be a success. The first in a trilogy with themes of how dark and light go together with learning of truth and love.

He just hadn't known why the group he got involved with was on their way to the Emerald City in the first place, let alone that a war was going on there at the time. Most are highly evolved and speak and do human things. They find out a young dinosaur is about to become a leader due to birth right. But there was a mix-up with his birth and another dinosaur who is more qualified. Mr. Wogglebug is the only one who knows how to reveal the truth.

When an intelligent and gentlemanly bug is magically enlarged by a wise professor, he begins a journey across a fantastical land and enlightening strangers along the way. In his first adventure he learns about love and family from a tailor's family and saves a whole village from an evil landlady with the help of a leprechaun.
