Join us in this study of Abraham as he teaches us what it is to live by faith. The story of Abraham covers approximately one-quarter of the book of Genesis and one-third of Hebrews 11. The Word of God teaches us that God called Abraham to live by faith. The lessons from Abraham's life of faith are key for us today. Like Abraham, God has called each of his children to a life of faith. May we learn much from his life as we journey through this study I challenge each of you to pray that God would open your eyes and your understanding as we open the Word of God in this book and journey through the life of the man who is known as the friend of God. Of all the characters in the Word of God that can be studied, Joseph has continually challenged me. He teaches us much about purity, as not a single sin is attributed to him. Even as he faces tremendous opposition, he maintains his integrity. We can also learn much about faith in God, as we never see his faith wavering. He was a man of integrity. He never seemed to get his eyes off the Lord. Joseph is a tremendous example for us.This study will also show you how Joseph is a type of the Lord Jesus Christ in many ways. His life points us to Christ. As you study his life, you will encounter over one hundred particular points where Joseph is a type of Christ.One of the greatest things about Joseph's life is how evident God's hand is. God took care of him and guided him every step of the way. Even in situations we often question, Joseph understood that "God meant it for good."

The study of David is a wonderful study. It reminds us that God can take nobodies and use them for His honor and glory. Even in his early life, nobody saw any potential or believed David would be used greatly. Others saw only a shepherd boy; God saw a king. David was the greatest king that Israel ever had.David enjoyed many wonderful blessings from God throughout his life. The greatest of all blessings is that David became known as a man after God's own heart. This is not something that David or another person said of himself, but this is the testimony of God. What led to this incredible distinction? Join us in this study as we examine this truth. David was not perfect-in fact, he was far from it He failed and failed big, but he kept short accounts with God. He sinned, but he quickly confessed and manifested genuine heart repentance. David has much to teach us about obedience, faith, and worship.
