"The Black Man's Journal," is a collection of journal entries created by a 28 year old black man in the city of Detroit. Through short stories, interviews, poetry, and testimonies, he is able to detail his experiences as a social worker, significant other to black women, and resident of the city that some may call - The "D," Motown, The 313, The Motor City, or home. His writing begins with a short poem entitled, "Who am I," which displays the perceived and true identity of African American males.
