Torsino begins by describing a young couple's salad days, a wild and convivial time. The classic love poem gives way to the classic vacation poem during a trip to Panama City Beach in Florida. Kyle moves to St. Thomas for a summer job. He meets a young blond girl, also from mainland America, who lives with criminals native to the island.
