Necropole is a book-length poem on the relationship between prophetic and social loneliness. Prophetic loneliness is the loneliness of one who sets him or herself outside society in order to view it more clearly. Social loneliness on the other hand is a form of suffering that, given humankind's essential connectedness, borders on spiritual death. Necropole is an examination, in poetry, into whether prophetic loneliness does or does not also lead to spiritual death--and if not, why not. The poem is illustrated by the artwork of Alison Chase Radcliffe.
The Sky is a Gate, from the author of Necropole and Poetry is Mindfulness (among others), is a collection of poems mostly written during the pandemic year of 2020 in which the poet explores the effects of the pandemic on himself and life in general. The collection also includes the long poem "The Social Schedule of Death", which examines the possibility of the transcendence of relationships, in the context of the poet's metaphysical outlook.
