Alaska Writers Guild's 2012 Writer's Achievement Award How does a high school valedictorian, former member of the famed 101st Airborne, respected church deacon, husband and father of three end up with a first-degree murder conviction and serving life without parole? Deacon's Crossbow is a bone-chilling and compelling work of true crime - about fate, fear, facts and personality, especially that of convict Donald S. Graham. Donald and his wife were driving home from dance lessons when they happened upon two men on Interstate 95 in Massachusetts. When Donald reached for his crossbow, all hell broke loose. The end result: the male driver is dead and the deacon is in prison for the rest of his life. You will follow a labyrinth of events from the incident all the way to the present. The story is unique because it includes Mr. Graham's views and sentiments from within the walls of incarceration, as well as perspectives from a free man, the author. Was justice served? Or was the driver the aggressor and the deacon the victim? Read an excerpt at http: //www.BraveDownBooks.com/ Second Edition, 251 pages, paperback, 6 x 9 "Striking that, though I knew the whole story and its conclusion, I remained riveted and completed 200 pages in two sittings. Interesting how self defense can be well-hidden by 'our system of justice.' Don's case is a billboard advertisement for such basic rights."Bruce Krell, Attorney at Law, San Francisco "How am I supposed to sleep after reading (practically in one sitting ) your book? Haunting stuff. So many layers of the unknown left to it. Good work."David Stevenson, Director and ProfessorUniversity of Alaska Anchorage MFA Program

What would God do? Is another way to ask the same question. It is time we used God's love, to accept each other, just the way we are. God can show us the way, to love and accept each other, without judgement or expectations, and how to live in peace and harmony, even if our cultures are completely different. Love is the universal common-thread, that will either allow human-kind, to progress and thrive - or whether we are destined for extermination, as the human species. Our species is at a precarious cross-road. We must recognize the danger, and react to it, or, our species will be swallowed in a racial and religious war, which will destroy mankind, as we know it. The object of this book is not to prove, or disprove, any specific theology, but rather, the intention is to list the many areas which are common to all theologies, such as the after-life, and God's love. By examining what tenets we all share, we will be able to see that, truthfully, the religions of the world, are not all that different. And, I wanted to show every person who reads this, how you can keep your own theological beliefs, no matter what they are, and accept friendship and love from someone who has a dif- ferent faith, and possibly, even a different culture. By focusing on the commonality, we can learn to accept the differences in our brothers and sisters, of all colors and religions.
