Pedro is the main character who finds new friends and enemies and discovers places he never imagined existed. Because of Pedro's inexperience in dealing with different realms, he usually ends up in the middle of the worst situations. Things are not always the way they appear; he was warned and quickly learns just how true that statement is as he struggles to travel to new worlds, help his new friends, and try to stay alive.

He swiftly makes new friends as well as enemies, and discovers different realms that even in his wildest dreams ever imagined could exist. Steven Boyd and the Blufirs have already begun attacking and make everyone's lives more difficult, yet somehow Pedro has managed to stay alive. But how long will they be able to survive as they travel through new and dangerous worlds where things are anything but normal? Despite all of this, Pedro has succeeded in meeting a few new allies who are now working alongside with him until more reinforcements can arrive, albeit from another solar system thousands of light-years away. As bad as things sometimes get, Pedro has always managed to make everything just a little more interesting and amusing for everybody else. But with every new world, there are more choices and challenges that must be dealt with.

With limited weapons they are forced to depend on their allies' resources which have so far turned out to be odd but effective. Although Jim Davis is a royal pain in the rear, he has finally proved his worth as a valuable resource and gained everyone's respect. However, David is the real star of the group. With his surprising knowledge, skills, and resources, he has allowed the others to take full advantage in their decision making and, so far, it has continued to keep them alive. Steven Boyd believes Pedro is some kind of a good luck charm that continues to allow the others to remain safely out of his grasp. With the assistance of a new acquaintance he meets, Steven Boyd decides to use black magic as a new weapon against Pedro and his friends. With deadly results, he attacks and it appears he might be winning the war. He should be happy but is surprised and horrified to discover that there will always be a price to pay for using black magic.

He warns him never to tell anybody whats been happening to him, for fear somebody might think hes crazy and have him locked up. Pedro had just turned twenty-one years old, and on his birthday, something happens that will change his life forever. Like it or not, things quickly begin to unravel for Pedro, who unexpectedly finds himself in the middle of a war between two separate worlds. Pedro is suddenly forced to make drastic changes in his life and learn to do new things he had never imagined he would be able accomplish.
