The ancestors of Gabe and Nash Fisher start with humble beginnings, pioneers coming west for land and settling in Iowa just after Iowa became a state. Originally from the east coast, Plymouth, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York their family has a history of fighting in the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and the Vietnam War. Military service is something their ancestors were never afraid of. Many of the Plymouth ancestors came over on the Anne and the James, and at least one married one of the Mayflower passengers. They came from England, Scotland, Ireland and later from Hungary and Czechoslovakia. From those countries, ancestors can be traced back as far as 1120 BC, to King Priam of Troy. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Richere had no clue how far back her Native American ancestry was. As she learned more about her grandparents and heard the stories about her 'gambler Indian great-grandfather" she began to investigate her ancestry. A direct descendant of Chief (Sachem) Heni' Membertou, the first Mi'kmaq/MicMac native of Nova Scotia to be baptized by the Christian missionaries and the Chief of the Mi'kmaq tribe in Nova Scotia, her family intermarried with the first French colonists of Quebec and eventually migrated to the United States into Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The French families they intermarried into were of Royal blood and can be traced more than 80 generations throughout England, Wales, France, and Palestine, with a few drops of Scottish for good measure. From the hills of Virginia, Albert Atwell's ancestors were some of the first colonists to arrive on American shores. Descended from Earls and the Kings of Scotland, Elizabeth Weems married Thomas Bailey of Londonderry, Ireland in 1780 in Orange County, North Carolina. From there, the family moved to Baileyton, Tennessee with her parents and siblings; named after the brother of Thomas Bailey, Claudius. In the years that followed the family spread southward and westward to all the states across the nation. They fought in every war; the Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War, World War 1 and 2, Korean, and Vietnam.
