'More Than Lamar' is a collection of novella 'Shit Lamar' as well as two short stories 'Poor Dewey' and 'Not A Prayer'. They take a lighthearted look at how disadvantaged and betrayed characters deal with death and deceit. Some make it. Some don't. 'Shit Lamar' follows life on a less than model Depression era farm, 'Poor Dewey' looks at the exploits of a world renowned chess expert with anti-social habits, and 'Not A Prayer' uncovers some small town life that is far from staid and proper.

The two novellas and short story in 'More Than Sordid' lightly follow human frailty from Manhattan to Mexico to the high seas. Many characters are incapable, irreverent, immoral, devious or doomed - but others manage to see hope on the horizon.'Sordid Suites' watches deteriorating relationships among neighbors while 'Edna's End' looks at a sinister solution for a stale marriage. Unexplained lust in 'Three Hands' suggests poverty, progress and probability may be intertwined.
