Early's Idaho is the five-generation diary of a Kentucky family that removes to Idaho in 1872 to homestead a farm on the Snake River. As the eldest male of his generation, Early Hawkins compiled his and his forebears' diaries, and added an epilogue in 1954. It's a story of family, living on the land and the passage of time.
