So many of our African-American youth have very little knowledge of their parents' and grandparents' childhoods. MY BLACK SOUTH is an attempt to give glimpses of African-Americans growing up and living in rural and segregated communities during the 1930's through the 1960's.. These vignettes are light-hearted, comical, sad and somewhat factual. A few have been embellished. Most have been passed down from generation to generation. I will continue to collect these and share them in the future. Hopefully, you will share this collection with youth in your family. I assure you that they are informative and thought provoking.
