The Xasx were the race who dared to challenge the mighty Zhumaan, the aliens who controlled interstellar travel through their unique technology. It was a costly mistake, for when the Zhumaan came to destroy them, nothing was left standing on the ground, and the great population of Xasxa was reduced to only a few thousand souls in an event that would alter the Xasx forever. Before that dreadful day, the first Ispa had seen them, the disgustingly soft-bodied race who made treaties and conquered no one despite the superiority of their weapons. Ispa was punished with his fellow commanders for surrendering to them, but as he died he began to think their strange ways might have merit. It was the beginning of a change that would surprise the Zhumaan when the last Ispa met them face-to-face.

A naive young boy is whisked off on a quest with a stranger and his companion, only to discover that the world is not what it seems and that everything he knows about it is wrong. It is only the beginning of the discoveries he will make, and in the midst of fighting the gravest of foes, he becomes something new and finds out that he can do more than anyone ever imagined.

Dylan Fox didn't realize how much trouble would come of a dream he couldn't remember. It was just a dream, after all, but the turmoil it would bring to the dull routine of his unremarkable life would send him reeling. That same morning he saved a mysterious young stranger from being hit by a car and then had coffee with him in a cafe. The next day he fled his apartment, looking for a safe place to hide. Dylan's room mate didn't believe what he told him before he left, but that would change when he saw it for himself. It was the beginning of a mind-blowing adventure for both of them, but the most amazing thing was when it all started.

The ways of the Breeworlders were strange, and their planet was a world full of violence. The boy on the starliner never wanted to go there, but he had no choice. To him it was a hopelessly backward dystopia, far from the bright lights and warm comforts of galactic civilization, but he would begin to see that things on Bree weren't entirely what they seemed. In that world he would discover that the truth is often hidden where it is plain to see. He would also learn that for some, living on Bree had a price.

When Ganneb Gogh got fired from his job at the Ares Port on Selene he didn't know how much it would change his life. That port was where the Greatships stopped to receive product from Helcron for delivery to customers all over the galaxy, and Ganneb was the one who kept it running in spite of the lazy, inept port manager. It was one of those small, insignificant events upon which the universe pivots, unnoticed by the ones who governed the galactic civilization of humanity. But it would show them the limits of their control, for it wasn't their meddling that made it the beginning of a new era for the miners of Helcron.
