Brief facts of embryogenesis are included in this book because embryology leads the student to a more thorough understanding of human anatomy. Because minimally invasive and robotic surgery is definitely the surgery of today and tomorrow, the modern surgeon must now know this other type of anatomy, the ""non-touch, non-see"" anatomy. In other words, the surgeon must know anatomy very thoroughly indeed.
