Visiting a foreign country is exciting, overwhelming, and often uncomfortable. Living in a foreign country is a whole other story. In the fall of 2007, Heather lived in Siena, Italy immersed in an Italian language and culture program. She kept a journal of her experiences, including descriptions of the places she visited, the wonderful people she met, and details of things to avoid. Above all, she learned that a semester abroad, even if it lasts only three and a half months, is an experience to be treasured for a lifetime. This travelogue includes an appendix with a few tricks & tips on traveling in Italy, as well as an Italian Language Survival Guide.
