James, the brother of the Lord Jesus Christ, has been argued against because of his apparent emphasis on works rather than faith. Any who feel this way have not studied this New Testament book. James is not at odds with Paul in any way. His down to earth view of being a child of God is that without works our faith is useless but faith is of the utmost importance. It is through faith that we are given wisdom from God to face the many trials and temptations that face each of us. Do not sell James short. He is a very practical man and does not pull any punches.
