First published under the title XOXOXO, these are the original pages of XOXOX, and it is sometimes referred to by its subtitle, 'Dirtbag'. For years the manuscript has been purposefully left in electronic format following a more than five year gap in communications surrounding the government filings regarding these pages. The situation has been resolved. XOXOX was originally written in 2009, and a decade later we're looking back at what we should have recognized then to be an opiate crisis coming to the streets of America. At the time America was too busy withdrawing its remaining military might from desert mountain areas, and pulling intelligence from poppy fields, to notice the opium that the flowers produced. XOXOX was written, it should be noted, while spending most days in parts of inner city Detroit which have since been destroyed in an attempt to revitalize the city. Those days were some of the best of my life -- everyone living normal lives in just an entirely different world, and we passed around beat literature that was filed in court and won in a previous life. When we were faced with darkness inside the concrete we were fortunate to have the possibility of fantasy smile at us. This is XOXOX, it is a subculture violently erupting in a fairy tale of some land which could very well be construed by any other setting as some familiar place in urban America.

Rehab was Jason Judd's second novel. It challenged us all, and it raised the bar. It was tossed up in the struggle of modern American morality. These are the original pages. It is the story of August Swore, who we see as an addict, a genius, and an outlaw, his mistress, and a good doctor holding on to the past. It's an underground scene, and we have pretended it vanished in America around 1978.
