Many of Christopher Nolan’s films ironically both embrace the tradition of surrealist and Avant-Garde filmmaking while simultaneously providing (at least tacit) support for the Anglo-American liberal world order. For Nolan, this world order, which relies on global capitalism, technocratic supremacy, and ultimate control of world cultural production, is a much greater alternative to either left- or right-wing challenges to this liberalism. In Nolan’s films, this liberalism must occasionally use violence and violate some of its core principals of privacy and freedom to maintain its dominance. Nonetheless, Anglo-American liberalism, in Nolan’s vision provides a world that is freer, more humane, and more prosperous than other anarchic, Marxist, or fascist alternatives. Finally, (and perhaps most importantly for Nolan) the security, wealth, and freedom of this liberal world order enables the world of art and film to blossom, and the opportunity for Christopher Nolan to create (post-) ironic dream worlds or, in the words of Jean Baudrillard, a “hyperreality”.

The security situation makes independent travel difficult in the Sahara, but under the guidance of reputable tour operators, travellers can visit attractions like the oasis towns of Ghardia and Timimoun, or venture deep into the heart of the desert to view the prehistoric rock art in the Hoggar Mountains and Tassili N'Ajjer National Park. Loomed over on clear days by Mount Ararat across the border, it is the nation's hub of cultural activity and progressive thought, with a lively modern arts scene and plenty of large-scale redevelopment. Armenia has a large diaspora population there are thousands of Armenian Americans and a lot of wealth has been brought back into the country as a result. But the passions that underpin life here, from patriotism to religion, chess to cognac, aren't the sort that cost millions. Cafe culture has been perfected and it's de rigueur to spend inordinate amounts of time lingering over a conversation. Balkans. The History, People, Culture, Environment. The Balkans, or the Balkan Peninsula, is a distinct, and rather large, part of southeastern Europe. It takes its name from the Balkan Mountains that extend between the border of Serbia and Bulgaria all the way to the Black Sea. The region comprises many countries. Some definitions consider up to a dozen nations to be entirely or at least partially located in the Balkans. Most often, however, the definition or public perception is limited to the ex-Yugoslavian countries, Albania, Bulgaria, and Romania. It's always up for debate. As we at Chasing the Donkey focus on the entire Balkan Peninsula. This article talks about what to expect when traveling in the Balkans, more specifically in the countries of Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Serbia, Romania and Kosovo. Nestled on the Polish border, Brest is possessed of charm and an abundance of history, also possibly the most Western of all the Belarusian cities. Outside of the cities, travellers will discover wide plains, picturesque villages, ancient castles, monasteries and dense forests, not to mention thousands of lakes. National parks protect some of the continent's largest marshlands, as well as some of Europe's oldest untouched woodlands, including Bialowieza Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The countryside also offers the chance to see some of the last remaining collective farms in action.

Most notable amongst the country's many charms is its lush, mountainous landscape, best seen from the vantage point of one of its national parks. Bosnia-Herzegovina still bears the legacy of war, but there are plenty of positives to take from the country's urban centres, especially the cosmopolitan capital of Sarajevo. With its rich history and lively nightlife, this diverse city has become one of Europe's most curious, unique capitals. The old town of Sarajevo is divided between the evocative Ottoman quarter of historic mosques, little streets filled with cafes and craft workshops, and the trendy Austria-Hungarian quarter built during the late 19th century truly a case of east meets west. Sarajevo also has several museums explaining its history, while climbing the steep hills rewards you with a stirring view of the city. One oddity is the colossal bobsleigh track from the 1984 Winter Olympics that runs through the forests of Trebevic mountain; it was destroyed during the Siege of Sarajevo in 1990s and is now a canvas for local street artists.

Tourists are recommended to visit the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Indians, the National Museum of Fine Arts, Ethnographic Museum, the Museums of History and Art, the Museum of Stones and the Museum of Republic. Guanabara Bay is considered the most beautiful place of the capital and features fantastic views. There is a small town of Buzios not far away from Rio. The town is mostly famous for its secluded bays, cosy parks and beautiful botanic gardens. Football fans simply cannot leave Brazil without visiting Sao Paulo. This is where the legendary stadium Pacaembu is located. The "king of football" Pele played at this stadium. Many people call Sao Paulo a "miniature Chicago" because of numerous skyscrapers and buildings with glass walls. Many of these high rise buildings have observation decks installed on top floors. The city of Brasilia is home to numerous landmarks. Sometimes the city itself is called a unique architecture project. From a bird's eye view the shape of the city resembles an airplane.
