She was thrown into adulthood with the tragic loss of her mother and was transformed into a woman destined to carry a torch, from the Underground Railroad to women's suffrage. Always one to take on any quest, Lizzy found the words written by her great-grandmother nearly sixty years earlier, deep in a cedar chest. Those words ignited a drive in her that transcended into the lives of generations to come. Presidents would come and go. Heroes would have their day. Speeches and declarations would be made across the nation. But Lizzy's journey would be more personal, with a passion for country and family.
