This is a collection of short stories written over the years. They range from capital-L Literature to very simplistic science fiction and horror. Along with each story is a blurb introducing the story, and explaining why the story was written and what I was trying to do at the time.

This is a collection of four successful runs through National Novel Writing Month. Each of these is 50,000 words long and was written between the 1st and 30th of November. In addition, each includes a challenge, either given by others or given personally, including meshing disparate genres, breaking expectations, and just trying to do something I'd never done before

AJ Grey is a tattoo artist. And a witch. She tracks down ghosts, hunts rogue necromancers, and hangs out with demons. It's her job to help the world keep its head in the sand about the supernatural creatures that exist all around them.As she is working to help one particular ghost after saving her from one particular rogue necromancer, she learns something chilling. The population of witches in the Twin Cities has increased by such a margin that the other supernaturals will be forced to re-establish the balance-by way of slaughter. And she might be called upon to help them do it.She will help the other witches, despite how much they despise her, if only to prove to them that she has good qualities and is worthy of being part of a coven. And while she's at it, she'll help a ghost, the ghost's former lover, and even her demon friend, Maxine DeFleur. And hopefully, she'll do it all without getting killed herself. But she has three days. Plenty of time, right?

AJ Grey's life has gotten back to normal after she turned in the necromancer who tried to kill her. At least, as normal as it gets for a supernatural investigator whose job revolves around keeping the average human oblivious to the things that go bump in the night. Then, there's another attempt on her life. And this time, it's personal. Death threats are an occupational hazard for a position that sometimes requires her to burn first and ask questions later. But this killer has been targeting tattoo witches, of which there are only a handful in the country. Including AJ. The previous victims, AJ's friends, died in horrible ways, and now their powers belong to their murderer. With few clues and fewer people she's sure she can trust, AJ has to find the killer before she becomes the next victim.
