In Columbus Donna manages the company after marrying Dan. Her focus is on the Cavalia Odysseo project, aimed to pack into two hours what Cavalia accomplished in three. Dressage trainer, Jennifer helps to design a real-time presentation system for the show managers. Veronica warns Dan Monica remains under the spell of sex bondage expert Joe Green and tells Robert to take her into his arms. She disappears. Dan finds her unconscious in Green's torture chamber and rushes her to the medical facility in his hotel. She is injured, but the psychological impact is enormous. Dan cancels all service obligations for Robert to refocus her on the show material in Zumanity to improve the sexual scenes in a Montreal-made video. Dan gets a glimpse of Jennifer's personality. Focused on training dressage horses the breakup with her lover breaks her heart. They meet Philippe at their training barn. Jennifer responds in fluent French. With impeccable riding skill Dan wonders how she could suffer from low self-esteem. Dan and Peter comple their purpose at the barn to attend a meeting in Montreal with Cirque du Soleil to make the Zumanity audience think they are seeing sexual intercourse. They sent an anthropology professor to try using pornographic actors which Dan opposes. We have to train their actors to feign having sex as we will show you in a training movie using real sex to help them playact the parts. Dan and Morgan find property on pristine Lac Tremblant suitable for use as a Cr che to harbor a small children's summer camp. The excursion is like a honeymoon for Morgan breaking her demeaning bonds to sexual slavery. Donna discovers Monica going wild visiting John Meeker at his apartment. Under pressure she admits to three shady friends of his forcing her. Their company is owned by a board member of a large engineering firm. Dan coerces them into making significant restitution payments. The three men visit Robert's apartment. as their leader produces a hand gun, Robert kills him with a single pistol shot. With Monica's mother Dan visits repentant Monica who breaks down swearing never to stray again. Still recovering from her rape injuries in Green's torture chamber she realizes that without birth control she would now be pregnant with Dan's child. Deep down she relishes it. Donna gets the Odysseo group to solidify plans to acquire enough dressage horses for the American opening in Scottsdale. Bar elona trainer Xavier joins Jennifer at her barn. Impressed by her stallion, he suggests subtle ways to dramatically improve his performance. She realizes that her life would dramatically improve by mothering Dan's children as she and Xavier rent a barn in Ventura County to train the horses for the Scottsdale show. Tony Patullio tells Veronica they had found Joe Green's corps in a landfill. Dan flies to Las Vegas and gets the Sheriff to meet them at Tony's office. It becomes clear the Sheriff didn't know that the body was Joe Green's and he takes Tony into custody. Looking at the body it was clear that he had died from a single blow to the side of his skull. Dan interrogates Robert to acknowledge killing Green after he snuck into the rehearsal studio, grabbed Monica to have intercourse with him in a way that only a sex slave would allow. As he begins leading her away, Dan strikes him with a powerful blow to the side of his head. They dispose of the body in a dumpster. Dan tells them to disappear through Yellowstone into other wilderness areas until it was safe to come home to Columbus. The Sheriff informs Veronica that they had taken an Arabian Sheik into custody who had offered Tony $5 million to deliver Monica to him as an addition to his harem in Abu Dhabi. Dan befriends the District Attorney using his influence on the Cirque du Soleil board to bring kidnapping charges against Tony Patullio and three Mafia shareholders in the casino company. Dan's challenge was to persuade her not to spend her funds on investigating the death of Joseph Green.
The arrest of the Mafia shareholders in the casino made it doubtful if the opening date for the Zumanity show could be maintained. There were no alternative showrooms large enough to host the show. Dan took the initiative by working with the prosecutor in Las Vegas and a key board member of the show company to raise fifty nine million dollars to buy the organized crime investors' shares. Jennifer and Xavier made great strides to acquire dressage horses for the American opening of Odysseo in Scottsdale. She accompanied Dan to Pasadena to visit the mother of late sexual bondage master, Joe Green. She showed no sign of grieving the demise of her son, telling them how he had involved his date in his weekly sex club where couples sat naked watching a pornographic movie with particularly intense routines and then raffled off the women to emulate the movie with different men in separate rooms. He then persuaded the prosecutor that an interview of Monica, after the trauma she suffered at the hands of Joe Green's men would be unproductive, since she did'nt even know that she had been sold to the Sheik in Abu Dhabi. In Montreal Dan discovered that Isabel, the wife of the Frenchman responsible for the Odysseo program, had an autistic daughter fathered by Xavier, since her husband was impotent. She came on to Dan, seeking his help as a surrogate father for another child. He got talked into it by Donna and made love to her in ways that liberated her extraordinary personality which he urged her to focus on addressing the autism of her little daughter. It was finally safe for Robert and Monica to come home to Columbus which focused Dan's attention on Monica's conversion to become a dedicated teacher of little children for his Cr che. Morgan had restored the Lodge on Lac Tremblant and had engaged the neighbor's wife, Liz who was widely recognized as an expert in the treatment of mentally challenged children, to help Isabel with Claudia, her little daughter. Dan then spirited Monica away in the Learjet to expose her to Claudia who absolutely blossomed when she saw Monica. Immensely happy that he had discovered her sweet spot, he turned to the best methods of getting her educated and qualified to teach very young preschool children. His burden of paying her back for acting as his courtesan when it was required was immense and the love they felt for each other would never die. To expand their services in the show and conferencing business Dan had hired a young woman with a PhD and a Mensa score above 98% who rapidly overhauled their views on what the future held for show venues. Her perceptions were almost as revolutionary as Dan's, and since it was unlikely that she would ever lead a conventional life to raise an offspring she opted to snare Dan as her lover to father an offspring of up to as many six children. Monica makes it a condition of her new job to master the Creche, that Dan quit taking on new lovers since she had committed to do so.
Anake Wolmerans, aspiring to represent the United States in the 2012 Olympiad, crashes in the final jump-off round of a stadium jumping championship and her injury destroys her right-hand peripheral vision in both eyes. She and Andr Brink, her trainer, withdraw to California's Santa Ynez Valley determined to still make the U.S. Olympic Dressage team. They start from scratch training her on her Friesian Stallion, lan, to ride as if blindfolded. The exhausting process challenges to master each dressage level all the way up to forth level and onto the first international level of Prix Saint Georges. Many years her senior, Andr serves as her eyes, mentor and business manager, bonding with her until they are inseparable. Her performance at progressively higher levels draws increasing attention to them. Having saved her vision, her neurosurgeon is inspired to provide financial help through his hunt club members and sends his dressage-riding teenage daughter, Madison, to live with them. She bonds with Andr to achieve astounding results very quickly while Anake accepts an invitation to attend a high level annual dressage clinic in Holland. Her famous host motivates her to ride Intermediare I and II, as well as Grand Prix on the back of his famous Warmblood, Breda. She leaves Europe with a strong affection for her imposing host, Jan Prinsloo, with the ultimate goal of including Grand Prix Freestyle They find it increasingly difficult to hide her sight impairment from dressage federation observers as they turn their attention to showing at important championship shows on the West Coast with a final appearance in Las Vegas. Madison has her own challenges set by Andr to take her horse through level three on the same trip. Anake begins to draw the attention of the equestrian press while Madison discovers Renata, a beautiful Brazilian Olympian, watching Anake closely enough to be a Dressage Federation observer. The stress to exceed each previous triumph along with the irritation of Andr 's attention to Madison, wears on Anake who begins to behave aggressively toward her. When he sets a trap for Renata, the beautiful Brazilian, to ride lan against Anake in Portland to elevate Renata's appreciation of Anake's depth of ability, it almost brings their relationship to a breaking point. They encounter the Brazilian again at a Los Angeles show and Anake befriends her to discover that she bore Prinsloo a child out of wedlock two years earlier and invites her to stay with them for the next show in Las Vegas. Andr hears that Renata's grandfather had taken her child into custody in Brazil leaving her stranded abroad to fend for herself and steps in to convince her Stanford MBA father to make peace with her and to persuade her grandfather to release the child to her. With the specter of added competition for Andr 's attention from this new formidable dressage figure, Anake overdoses on Bols Gin an hour before her Grand Prix Freestyle test. With the aid of the neurosurgeon, Andr revives her in time for the test which falls slightly short of expectation, but it sours her relationship with him to a point that he packs her off to a wild animal camp in Botswana on the Caprivi Strip where he and several associates had contrived to save a rich heritage of wild animals during the Angolan war. Anake seeks comfort in the arms of Rolf one of Andr 's bosom friends. When this comes to his attention Andr decides to encourage the courtship to ensure her security and to preserve at least their training relationship. At arms-length they hold it together through a vigorous show series at Grand Prix level in Florida which almost assures her of a place on the next U.S. Olympic Dressage Team, but causes a nervous breakdown which hospitalizes her in a psychiatric treatment facility in Wickenburg, Arizona.
Book 1 covered the struggle of Anake with extremely good equestrian results, but ends in her serious nervous breakdown which lands her in a clinic in Arizona. Andr continues to expand their equestrian production business to include a new grand facility in Santa Ynez and several important facilities around Wellington, Florida. In this endeavor he is greatly assisted by Renata who agrees to marry him in spite of his ironclad loyalty to Madison who progresses rapidly from puberty into womanhood with astounding dressage achievements along the way. Together, Andr and Renata expand the company's board of directors to include Brian and Laura Forrester, a very influential financial couple in Illinois to work alongside John and Mary Murchison, Anake's friends. Rolf contracts with the World Wild Life Fund to save the Siberian wolves and bears and Andr prevails on Anake's psychiatrist to release her to join Rolf in this enterprise. In the meantime he works on an agreement with an Australian dressage aspirant living in Germany with her Danish Olympian husband to join forces with Anake to participate in a range of European championship dressage shows. He takes the family to Brazil to formally marry Renata and with Carlos, her father, they venture to Sao Paulo to arrange for the formation of a Brazilian subsidiary, as previously envisaged. Renata and Madison continue on to Europe to work with Anake on her freestyle choreography largely composed by Madison. Andr ' flies in to give her a final boost several days before important championship shows. This places Anake in serious contention for a seat on the US Olympic Dressage Team as it culminates in her spectacular upset of the leading Dutch female dressage queen on her home turf. It causes the US Equestrian Federation to offer her a berth on the Olympic team, which Andr declines in favor of her competing for a place on the team at Gladstone where she succeeds spectacularly-all without removing her tinted spectacles. With the stakes that high Andr involves himself in Anake's training in England right down to the wire of her Grand Prix Freestyle performance which earns her an Olympic gold medal, placing her beyond reproach and able to appear in public without her spectacles. It earns Andr and Anake permanent places in each other's hearts.
Liberated from her Catalonian upbringing, Angelica goes wild in San Miguel de Tucum n. Architect Fernando saves her from youthful promiscuity by marrying her. In his conservative family they have a son and she is pregnant again, when soldiers of the military Junta abduct Fernando to make him disappear. Struggling to find him, she learns all about their atrocious torture methods and becomes a target. Escaping to Montevideo, vowing to avenge her loss of her husband, she encounters Kevin on the ferry. To elude the Junta agents in Uruguay, Kevin changes her into Alicia de la Rosa, a flamboyant Spanish fashion plate. Disguised, she joins a club collecting documentation of those tortured by the Argentinean forces. She shoots an agent pursuing Kevin and they find refuge in Chile. They come under attack in Patagonia by Argentinian soldiers who Kevin kills and charms a Chilean officer to provide protection for them in Santiago where Alicia completes her psychoanalytical training and gives birth to a daughter. Further attempted attacks causes them to move to California where she completes her advanced degree to practice post-traumatic stress disorder therapy and marries Kevin. She sets up a practice in San Miguel hoping to find proof of atrocities with which to prosecute the Argentinean officers. She reverts to Angelica s personality leading to errant sexual behavior, straining her relationship with Kevin who moves his business to Santiago as a safe haven for her and her therapy partner, Elena and buys a small Estancia just outside the city. With the outpour of information from the practice and growing archives of the Spanish Club, they collect ample evidence to prosecute key Argentinean officials. The defeat of Argentina by the British in the Falkland Islands brings the Junta to an end in 1983. The return of representative government initiates military to court marshals of Junta leaders. She and her advocate father-in-law, narrows their campaign to two cases involving two top generals. Alicia obsesses in her pursuit of key witnesses including a handsome soldier who seduces her in a series of cocaine loaded trysts. Kevin stumbles onto them having sex on the living room floor and presents Alicia with the clear alternative of behaving or leaving. Kevin gathers up his overdosed, bleeding wife and in the company of Elena flies her home to Santiago. The hospital prognosis for her recovery is unfavorable and Kevin is blamed for expecting too much from Alicia, in view of her dual personality problem. Their case against top generals for the theft of babies and murder of their mothers, reaches a guilty verdict with long prison sentences. Elated, Alicia recovers to rejoin Elena in their practice. She throws herself into helping her father-in-law counter legal motions to delay a verdict in their case against the Tucum n commander for murdering prisoners. The President resigns and incoming Peronist, Carlos Menem, halts all legal proceedings against Junta officers. Their hopes are dashed, Alicia s emotional condition plummets and she slits her wrists. The loving care of Kevin and Elena produces minimal results. Finally, Kevin takes her to Spain to work with their partner in the Spanish Club to prosecute the Junta officers in absentia in Spain. The reveal repulsive deeds by the Junta. Facing reality, in 2005 Argentina opens its own justice system to prosecute to bring closure to its most reprehensible era of civil repression. Furious, political militants try to assassinate Alicia's father-in-law and sabotage Kevin s airplane, causing a crash in which Elena dies. Deeply angered severely burned, Kevin goes on a media blitz against the former general. Weakened her father-in-law dies in his sleep and Alicia realizes, that she has essentially delivered on her oath causing her to turn inward. Redeemed in Kevin's eyes they return to California where they continue their mission, never to let society forget what happened in Argentina.
Chris Janssen was born and raised in Harlingen, Friesland, as far north as one can go in the Netherlands, where he specialized in still photography on a level approaching those attained by Ansel Adams, Yusef Karsh, and Anton Corgyn. He graduated from the University of Amsterdam and with his bride, Maria, moved to San Francisco where he expanded his professional reach throughout California. They became habitu s of Mammoth Mountain where Maria fell off her horse and was so seriously injured that attending nurse Cartwright tried to prevent her from leaving prematurely for Santa Barbara and she dies along the way in Bakersfield. In deep sorrow Chris returns to retrieve his automobile, only to question the legitimacy of Jane Cartwright as being the child of her father and the mother of her father's child. To legitimize her existence he marries her and sends her daughter, Felicity, to Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara to become an expert photographer. The marriage turns into a deeply full filling association, punctuated by annual travel interludes to marvelous places. Tragically she dies in a massive snow storm on her way home, breaking Chris' heart. Felicity persuades him to marry her to complete their business partnership. Chris is seduced by Camila in Rio de Janeiro during Carnival, on her fancy float and their relationship deepens to where Chris takes her to Santa Barbara to study drama at UCSB. She transfers to USC to graduate in theatre arts for motion picture production under the tutelage of Chris' old friend, Wilson. Without inhibition, she gives birth annually to four gifted children causing Chris to move the family to the Monterey peninsula and produces her first Oscar winning movie in Maputo, Mozambique. Her next movie, set in southern Chile, yields an additional award and prepares her for a major award in S o Paulo for saving young middle to upper class women from drug addiction by having them join her in a major effort to convert large numbers of young women to sobriety. This venture wins major international accolades. Subsequently Chris makes a prize winning movie in Cape Town, South Africa, featuring Sue entitled "From Africa with Love". In order not to be left behind, Sue's daughter, Cindy, with the help of Wilson, begins making prize winning movies and she follows Camilla's example, bearing Chris several additional children. They pull together to help Camila make a final movie with Brazil's top motion picture producer, Roberto Marinho, who knew Chris from previous discussions. Out of this is born "Swan Song" Camila's crowning glory. Well into his eighties, Chris dies while walking on the beach, leaving behind a legacy of color blind motion picture achievements.
