Malcolm McLennon, the VP of SoftWaters Operations, is now married to Aretha Arrendonda, a senior software analyst, living in Parker, CO a Denver suburb. The couple's decision to move to the U.S. is to put behind being a target for the marauding ISIS cell. The Monschau shoot-out by the German police killing the ISIS leader Suleiman Abu, is history and an end to the Summer Sunday Tours. However, Gary Rice, brother of Jerry Rice, aka Ishmael the ISIS terrorist, is attending the university in Boulder Colorado and recognizes Aretha on TV at a school graduation celebration. Gary is fixated seeking revenge for his older brother's incarceration by Aretha, the key eye-witness to Ishmael's killing spree.After the school celebration Aretha and friends spend the weekend at an adult sleepover to watch the twenty-year-old 'The Big Chill' movie, a favorite with the couples, full of memories of what it was like when they were first married.Will Gary be successful in tracking down Aretha? How does he seek a killing revenge in a bedroom community? Should Aretha or Malcolm worry about Gary's revenger?

Since 1967 to 2020 John has been very lucky to know and love Prudence. Married in 1977, the poetry became a slice of our lives describing events, places and family dynamics. The key, though is our love for one another, our unmovable connection that has driven our lifestyle commitments.

Asked by one of the wives to participate in the Summer Sunday Tours -a series of weekend packages for ex-patriots- to see unique parts of Europe, she looks forward to the adventures. Aretha falls for a colleague Malcolm, on the weekend the bus driver of the Tour is killed adding to her excitement, with London and Brussels police on the trail of murder suspects. The Middle Eastern men, making up a cell group, are involved somehow, but it is not clear how. Was the first murder revenge or a signal to another group about turf or the first terrorist act against the Americans? Aretha falls in love with a colleague, Malcolm, on the same weekend the bus driver of the Tour is killed adding to her over-taxing events, with London and Brussels police on the trail of murder suspects. The Middle Eastern cell group is involved somehow, but it is not clear to the police how. Was the first murder revenge or a signal to another group about turf or the first terrorist act against the Americans? Can Gannon, the owner of SoftWaters, and his wife Beth help with the sad events happening on the Tour? Is it part of a bigger picture that authorities are clueless solving? And should Aretha put her faith in Malcolm or pack up and go home?

Growing up in Northern California in the Sixties was a wonderful time for families and children. Recently I was laid up after shoulder surgery and had time when watching TV or reading wasn't very interesting. But many memories and stories started to pour out while being laid up and I realized that a lot of who I am now comes from those experiences. I started writing to capture these moments, life-changing events and small vignettes of a life-style that probably doesn't exist anymore. After writing more than half of the stories I started to look for the old black and white pictures Dad took of us growing up. Finding these pictures also recalled other memories of where they were taken and what happened that led to the picture. These then became stories of Fair Oaks.
