An Essay on hot and Cold Bathing. By John King, Apothecary
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars.Medical theory and practice of the 1700s developed rapidly, as is evidenced by the extensive collection, which includes descriptions of diseases, their conditions, and treatments. Books on science and technology, agriculture, military technology, natural philosophy, even cookbooks, are all contained here.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. The Genetic Basis of Plant Physiological Processes

The Genetic Basis of Plant Physiological Processes

This book shows how the study of fundamental plant physiological processes is being advanced through the science of genetics. The author has adopted a case study approach to illustrate how defined genetic materials in mutants and plant variants are being productively used to explore photosynthesis, stress tolerance, seed physiology, and flowering and reproductive morphology. These studies cover all major fields of plant physiology and are grouped in a format familiar to students of the discipline. Most take the form of a brief introduction followed by a discussion of the isolation and characterization of the mutants in question, and then by examples of how these mutants have been used to provide physiological insights. The aim is to make the information accessible to students with an elementary knowledge of plant physiology, genetics, and molecular biology, as well as other scientists and students who wish to know more about the application of the powerful tools provided by genetics.
Talking to God: How I Found Peace
I was sixteen. The pastor organized a mid-week bible study to which I faithfully showed up. Not unusual, as he spoke of this and that my mind raced on ahead marking the path with the breadcrumbs of a hundred questions I was intent on asking him when the study ended for the evening. Afterward as he descended the stairway from the upper room (how appropriately named) in which we gathered for the study I matched his gait step for step while picking up the crumbs (my questions recalled) and force-feeding them to him one after another after another. Suddenly, he stopped. Was he needing to focus and think through some astute answer to my latest? Not exactly. Just then he sighed and betraying his exhaustion and wanting to bring this night to a merciful end, he sighed, "John, Ask God!" What a brilliant idea which, until pastor mentioned it, I had never thought to do. It became a life changing word of advice.
The Crusade For the Souls of Men: The Gospel Story: When God Walked Among Us
The plan for our salvation was drawn up in the ages past by our Lord to encompass, not just those final acts of forgiveness but, the entire span of our Savior's sojourn among us. As the earthly life of the Savior comes to its climactic conclusion, so does the fury of the opposing darkness. Whatever devilish plans may have been held in reserve over the 30 or so years Jesus was among us, have inevitably and predictably, on the eve of His death, burst forth in all its rage. As Jesus approached Golgotha, He invited more and more people to involve themselves in some way in the confrontation. What was once a very private conversation on some forsaken hillside with His twelve discussing His sufferings and death, had become a sermon "shouted from the housetops." It is the Story of when the light invaded the blackness of a spiritual night. It is the Story of when God walked among us.

The Day After Time: God Put The 'More' in Forever
I find the thought reasonable that on the eve of man's final day on earth, God Who controls all things will decide our destiny. Only God who made the world should have the right to destroy it; so as time runs down, as man draws closer to discovering the means of his own destruction and the disposition to use it, as a believer I trust God to intervene. This is the backdrop here for my inquiry into scripture-not to confirm this scene, which I maintain is inevitable, but to apply an academic inquisitiveness into the Book of all books, asking one question: What happens to mankind then? This will be the first day after the last day ...the day after time.
