This is the original and first book of poetry from Oliver Westbrook, an American poet. From the author: I feel my poetry is an extension of my soul. I'm not here trying to impress anyone, I just want my work to be read and embraced and hopefully for my words to inspire, comfort, and ignite hope..love..ambition..courage..emotion..and awaking in others.I never really expected to publish, although in the back of my mind somewhere I think I felt it needed to happen and that I wanted it to happen, wanted to write these poems for myself and share them, share my soul, with the world.Being bare is frightening, exposing one's inner world and soul. A great friend of mine gave me the name to this book and it was perfect. Bare expresses not only what publishing this work is experiential for me, it is about the human experience..about becoming authentic, returning to that exposed, vulnerable state that we are born in. I genuinely hope my poetry will resonate with your soul and engage your senses as you read and let your heart open and listen to the sacred spirit we all possess and share. May you find nourishment for your spirit and soul in these pages as I have found in filling them.OliverThis was our time, our moment. to dance in the road in the rain.We were like angels again.Like children starting a revolution.behind closed eyes, lies, the universe, never calloused or chambered grudges.Only becomes water.See my rippling beginning;brimming upon the lip of the cup;where my tears well and regrets fade.Take me by my cold unsettled hand.Draw to me your torch, in this dark fading evening; when the ocean can run through you..The broken wings need the flames, to singe off all our outer gamings.Revealing how we soar at twilight.

Milly Hope is the Crossover child of fae folklore, but her parents don't know that yet. Of course, they know that their little girl is going to be special - just not exactly how special. To complete the Crossover process, she has to learn how to become fae before her 7th Birthday, and Barry Goodfellow, publican at the Royal Oak, and the rest of the faery community of Whimbury will have their work cut out to help her to do it. First, they have to find the ideal person to teach her about fae history and legends, and then they must decide how much time they have to complete the task. The first Crossover experience must take place at just the right moment. Failure isn't an option. But should they believe the call for urgency, impressed upon them by the tall stranger and his quiet friend, or is the cautionary approach demanded by Eric O'Shy the right one?The human inhabitants of Whimbury know nothing of this dilemma - they have their hands full fighting plans for a lot of new housing in the village, which may affect the Royal Oak itself. All that Miranda and Will Hope know is that their child has a vivid imagination and an apparent ability to communicate, at length, with animals and invisible friends. But will this help her to fulfil her destiny? Oh Fae is the second book of The Crossover series.
A Faery Merry Christmas and A Reader in Fae Theology and Folklore
Milly Hope was born in the village of Whimbury to be the Crossover Child of Fae legend. Her destiny is to be able to cross over from human to fae and back again whenever she chooses. But her ability to do that will only be within her powers if the first 'Crossover' takes place before her 7th Birthday. There is a responsibility, therefore, for the fae community of Whimbury to prepare her for this event. She will need to understand the history, legends, myths and folklore of the faeries in order to become truly faery at the right moment. This book of short stories and fae documents is designed to give the reader an insight into those legends and folklore that Milly has to learn, as part of her preparation. They include the Fae Creation legend and popular songs and poems of the fae community, including extracts from the epic prose poem 'Paradise Mislaid'. Many of these have been subsequently adapted and adopted by humans, though very few realise it.Also included here is the story of Milly's first Christmas - her first staging post on the journey to become the Crossover Child.
