Sie beginnt bereits im späten 19. Jahrhundert mit der weithin vergessenen organismischen Soziologie. Denkern wie Talcott Parsons oder Niklas Luhmann kann man allerdings kaum nur durch eine derart schlichte Rückführung gerecht werden.
