Now in its fourth year, the Örnsberg Auction takes yet another step in its development from experimental platform to legitimate counterestablishment movement. While the auction has always been practicedriven – meaning that designers are chosen, rather than individual works – this year the criteria for inclusion has been honed even further. Participants not only fall within the rather broad category of self producing designers working with small-scale production, but many to an even narrower and more radical subset of contemporary design. This year’s line-up favours designers with unique practices, whose methods of production are self-invented or who are working collectively. This years catalogue contains works by: Amanda Karsberg, Andreas Freinholt, Anna Nordström, Annie Johansson, Cora Hamilton, Dennis Grabén, Fredrik Ingemansson, Fredrik Paulsen, Jakob Robertsson, James Thompson, Jenny Nordberg, Jussi Ojala, Kristoffer Sundin, Lagombra, Lisa Berkert Wallard, Lotta Lampa, Ludvig Löfgren, Malin Henningsson, Maria Jeglinska, Mats Theselius, Mia E Gör ansson, Marjan Van Aubel, Not so precious jewelry, Odd Matter, Oona Linke, Petra Lilja, Sabine Marcelis, Samir Alj Fält, Simon Klenell, Tove Greitz.

Anton Alvarez has spent two years developing a machine that spins thousands of metres of brightly coloured thread around pieces of wood and metal to join them, producing solid benches, stools and lamps without traditional joints of any kind. The thread acts as an joining element, allowing the raw material being wrapped to be extremely elaborate without appearing so. Alvarez s work has been exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum and is represented by Libby Sellers Gallery in London. In photos, interviews and essays, this book presents the evolution of the thread wrapping technique, with an essay by UglyCute founder Andreas Nobel and a foreword by legendary British artist and curator Richard Wentworth. The book is produced in collaboration with Gustavsbergs Konsthall.

The story of OOPEAA began in a rural field in Finland, where the now-iconic Kärsämäki Shingle Church was built by hand by hundreds of volunteers over half a decade. In the years that followed, OOPEAA has established itself as one of Finland's leading architecture firms, one that is distinguished by a sensitivity to material and craftmanship - first under the name Lassila Hirvilammi Architects and, from 2014, as OOPEAA Office for Peripheral Architecture. In text, photographs and drawings, this book traces the office's development into one of the most innovative and exploritory architectural practices in the Nordic region today.
Visions of the Now – Stockholm Festival for Art and Technology
Initiated by Swedish artist Anna Lundh, Visions of the Now is a reconsideration of the 1966 Stockholm festival Visioner av Nuet (Visions of the Present), which aimed to examine the impact of technology on humanity, society, and art; half a century later, we are immersed in the technology that was still "new" in 1966. Lundh's project took place in 2013 and brought together international artists, musicians, theorists, and scientists for a three-day festival of lectures, panels, performances, sound pieces, installations, and screenings. What, it asked, are our current visions of the now, and how do we imagine the future? This two-volume set marks the fiftieth anniversary of Visioner av Nuet and contains the catalogue and proceedings of the 2013 festival, new contributions by the invitees, and photo documentation. Archival material from the 1966 festival, with never-before-published correspondence with John Cage and Buckminster Fuller and texts by Alvin Lucier and Nam June Paik, is featured along with the connected history of the 1966 New York festival, 9 Evenings of Theatre and Engineering.
