Even So They Reach gathers a new collection of Keith Shein's poems focused on the outdoors. In previous work, he has written of the weight and grandeur of Nature, and these themes can also be found in this new book. However, they exist side-by-side poems that also concern the difficulty of being in Nature, from the danger of its predators, to living in extremes of weather, to the literal coming to terms with the indifference of the outdoors to the human condition. In this, issues of living with neighbors, far and near, are also brought to light.

SHALL BE A BRIDGE brings together a selection of Keith Shein's longer, serial poems written over the last decades. Often composed while travelling, the poems range from Paris to the banks of California's Trinity River, and from the beaches of Pacific Grove to Texas towns. The poems' concerns range just as broadly, addressing love, economics, work, intimacy over distances, and the politics of living in a large, populous country. SHALL BE A BRIDGE is a poetry of finding place.

Mining the Light gathers thirty years of poetry focused on the outdoors. Fishing is what gets the poet to nature, but all that the natural world brings to light resides in the poems. Birth is there along with death, the ongoing richness of life, and the mystery of where we humans fit in, balancing as we must our time away from the natural world with our brief ventures into the wilderness.
