I haven't got the slightest idea when or where I met Pork Chop, AKA Kevin Moore. Probably at a biker gathering, or the Rutherford County Moose Lodge, or some other place where we were both present in the interest of having fun. He's a single father who would do anything for his daughters, a good son who takes his momma on long motorcycle rides, and never misses a chance to go fishing with his daddy, a self-employed car dealer known for dealing fairly with people, and a good friend to many. We became Facebook friends years ago, and since that time, he has made me laugh every day, including when I was going through some hard times in my life. He sometimes uses his self-deprecation and humor to share a few life lessons and words of wisdom, on family, women, and a few other choice subjects.Since there are still a few uninformed people in the world who aren't on Facebook, I persuaded him to let me put this little book together, so Moore folks can get to know The World According to Porkchop. An insightful new look at two renowned photographers, their interconnected legacies, and the vital documents of urban transformation that they created In this comprehensive study, Kevin Moore examines the relationship between Eugène Atget (1857–1927) and Berenice Abbott (1898–1991) and the nuances of their individual photographic projects. Abbott and Atget met in Man Ray’s Paris studio in the early 1920s. Atget, then in his sixties, was obsessively recording the streets, gardens, and courtyards of the 19th-century city—old Paris—as modernization transformed it. Abbott acquired much of Atget’s work after his death and was a tireless advocate for its value. She later relocated to New York and emulated Atget in her systematic documentation of that city, culminating in the publication of the project Changing New York. This engaging publication discusses how, during the 1930s and 1940s, Abbott paid further tribute to Atget by publishing and exhibiting his work and by printing hundreds of images from his negatives, using the gelatin silver process. Through Abbott’s efforts, Atget became known to an audience of photographers and writers who found diverse inspiration in his photographs. Museums were originally established as centres of high culture, intended to showcase the achievements of modern civilization. In the late 1990's this ideological role has been questioned. This book argues that museums provide the best means with which to understand and interpret popular culture.

By turns impassioned and irreverent, The Beatles by Ear is a collection of essays on each Beatles album, song, chord, key change, and songwriting technique. Song fragments like those of the Abbey Road medley and Sgt. Pepper are examined first as individual songs and then as larger suites.
