I hope reading about Jericho's struggle with addiction can help someone who is in a similar situation. I also want this story to show how the whole family suffers when there is addiction in the home. I want to dispel the "stereotype" of what an addict looks like and show that anyone can be affected. Substance use affects all, no matter what the socio-economic status, age, or race. I also want to stress the importance of depending on God for healing, and deliverance from things like addiction, and family issues. Jericho learned that he needed strength, and it could only come from God. Sometimes the walls and barriers we create to keep others out, ends up hurting and not helping. I hope anyone struggling with addiction, or has a loved one with addiction, can benefit from Jericho's message, and apply it to their own struggles.

The Country Girl and the City Squirrel is based on a true story. My nieces' moved to Nashville for their jobs. Ashton, really enjoyed living in the city, while Andrea was happier in the country. She befriended a squirrel, whom she named Stevie. Feeding him, and having him in the yard, reminded her of her parents' home when she was growing up. She eventually adapted to the city, and helped the little squirrel survive. I think this story can help children who have had to move, or change schools, feel a connection with Andrea and Stevie. Adjusting to a new way of life is difficult, and their story shows how our pets, and helping others can make us happy.
