Lek Pervizi, already known as a painter, poet and writer, with this new work completes the trilogy of three books, which include the entire period of condemnations and sufferings under the communist dictatorship in Albania. By now we know that that dictatorship, although in a small country, like Albania, was the most ferocious and criminal of the other Communist countries, Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Such fields and prisons in miserable conditions do not exist in these countries. Finally, the work of Lek Pervizi also appears as a precious document to be taken into consideration by scholars and historians, in order to know in depth how bad and horrendous communism was. Glorious exploits of Scandenberg The book takes us back to the distant year 1480 when it was written and published in Latin. The English reader learns of the Prince or King of Albania, George Kastriot Scandenberg. A great strategist and true hero in defense of the freedom of his kingdom and people against the Ottoman invasion at the same time defender of Christianity and of Europe. All this is recounted to us with a smooth and precise narrative style as a true historian by Father Demetrius Francus. He is the first historical writer to have written and published the first book on the life and glorious deeds of Scandenberg. Thus by reading this book, the English reader becomes acquainted with a great character and a great strategist who was Scandenberg. Father Demetrius Francus was a native of the city of Drisht o Drivagsto of noble origin. Certainly born in that city but of which there is no date, so it is known that he lived in the XVth century.
