Dive In to a Life of Freedom: Finding Healing in the Story of Naaman
When the captain of the army gets advice from the maid, things get really interesting . . .Yeah, there's a Jesus lesson in there.Christians get tired of living by the rules, hiding their past mistakes and tackling every problem like they've got it. We try to make Jesus look good, but it's hard work. Dive In to a Life of Freedom is a seven session interactive Bible study written to help Christians Sink the Secrets and Give up God-sized problems so they can go all in with Jesus.Naaman scoffed at the idea of finding healing by washing in the Jordan, but that's where he got his life back It takes courage to come to the place of abundance Jesus promises in John 10:10, and Naaman's story offers lessons to help us find it. We might get a little wet in the process, but once we get there, we're never turning back Lynne Modranski leads worship and small groups at Sycamore Tree Church. Raised on religion and caught in the trap of legalism for years, she understands the beauty and freedom of relationship with Jesus and she's hungry to share it. Her book, "Devotions for Church Leaders and Small Groups" has been bringing this idea to the world for 10 years. Lynne writes and blogs, sharing devotions and object lessons for kids. And when she's not sitting in her writing chair, you'll find her at the pool or the golf course with her daughters and grandchildren. But most of the time, you'll find her hanging out with the guy who doesn't mind being second to Jesus, her husband of 40 years, Steve.

Volunteers don't have a lot of time to prepare, but our kids deserve to have quality lessons. These 52 reproducible lessons accommodate both Heroes like Abraham, Moses, Joshua, David, and Esther teach us valuable truths. While chumps like Samson and King Saul demonstrate what not to do. The first quarter of this curriculum features stories from Abraham through Samson, the second quarter begins with Samuel and examines a few of the kings and the third quarter brings to life lessons from the apostles. The final quarter includes lessons for holidays and special times like Advent and Christmas, Palm Sunday, Easter, Pentecost and Back to School. Designed for volunteers who find themselves so busy sometimes they can't prepare until Saturday evening, each of the crafts and activities are easy to do, and the stories are written out so the leader can simply read the script or reword it to fit their personality. Each lesson has enough activities to reinforce the lesson and keep the class busy for at least sixty minutes; however, it can easily be modified to fit a 20 or 30 minute time slot. You'll find a brief overview of the lessons along with samples you can download here: https: //hubpages.com/religion-philosophy/CCHeroes

Peace . . . everyone wants peace. There is good news God wants to give us peace. In fact, He sent Jesus expressly for that purpose. That's why Christmas is a season focused on peace. Unfortunately, because of the commercialization of the holiday, it is generally anything but a peaceful season. The parties, gift buying and financial stress are just the beginning of the death of our peace. The 28 daily readings you'll find in this book are short inspirations to help you find Peace as you prepare for the celebration of Christ's birth.

This discussion guide was originally created for use during Lent; however, the trip to the Promised Land can happen anytime. And while the journey is much more enjoyable when you travel with others, you could optionally go through this study on your own. Just as Yahweh wanted His people to be safe in the land He had saved for them, our Heavenly Father still wants His children to live in the abundance Christ promised.Forty days has a lot of significance, and I'm obviously not the first to use that timespan to create a study. But the reason you see that number so often is the frequency it gets used in the Bible. It rained on Noah for forty days. The spies scouted the territory in forty days which caused the people of Israel to wander in the desert forty years after they didn't trust God to lead them in safely. Jesus wandered in the wilderness for forty days after His baptism as He faced His humanity and learned that even in His human state He could defeat the enemy. Plus, check out Elijah, Moses and Jonah for even more forty day references.Since the very early days of Christendom the church has set aside the forty days before Holy Week as Lent. It begins Ash Wednesday and either goes through Easter, omitting the six Sundays, or the season is counted from Ash Wednesday through Palm Sunday. Either way it's forty days to honor the days Jesus spent in the wilderness and forty days to ensure our hearts are prepared to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. So, whether you use this discussion guide as preparation for the holiest of days or simply to get a bit closer to your Heavenly Father, I pray you it helps you find your way into the abundance Christ promised.

This devotional book was originally written for the Mission team from Sycamore Tree Church's first mission trip. It includes ten devotional readings one for each evening (beginning on Sunday evening) and one for each morning of a five day Mission experience. The focus of this devotional is Romans 12:1 "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship." Participants will discover what it means to be a living sacrifice as they experience a sacrificial week on the mission field. This booklet also features space to record the names of each of their team members and those they serve as well as places to record their experience each day. The book can actually become a keepsake of their week as well as an opportunity to focus on Christ throughout their mission week.
