Der vorangestellte "Uberblick" stellt die Beitrage knapp vor und weist zugleich darauf hin, dass sich (dem Autor) da nicht selten einigermassen neue Perspektiven aufdrang(t)en. Das betrifft nicht nur die Paulusexegese ("The New Perspective on Paul") - und den paulinischen Ausdruck "Werke des Gesetzes" (z.B. Rom 3,28) -, vielmehr beispielsweise auch die sog. Antithesen der Bergpredigt, das lukanische Werk, das Johannesevangelium und das Apokalypse-Buch. Vor allem der (synchrone) Blick auf die fruhchristlichen Texte selbst legt namlich nahe, dass eben von ihnen her antijudaistische Auslegungsgewohnheiten uberwunden werden mussen. Fur den Protestantismus wird man (mit G. Theissen) von der Notwendigkeit einer "Entlutheranisierung" zu sprechen haben, indes auch von okumenischen Chancen - gegenuber gern als "werkgerecht" eingeschatzten Gemeinschaften.

Trotz schwerer Zerstorungen des Breisacher Stephansmunster in den Jahren 1793 und 1945 befindet sich das in das 15. Jh. zu datierende Chorgestuhl in einem bemerkenswert guten Erhaltungszustand, und es bietet im Bereich der Seitenwangen eine Fulle von ikonographisch uberaus interessanten und recht eng miteinander verwobenen Motiven.
