A powerful debut novel set in Australia, continuing the legacy of ‘Master of the Genre’ Desmond Bagley. The Sequel to Desmond Bagley’s DOMINO ISLAND Insurance investigator Bill Kemp had never wanted to trek deep into Australia’s remote interior. But when his clients Sophie and Adam Church inherit an abandoned opal mine, triggering some explosive long-lost secrets, they – and Kemp – find themselves facing an unknown enemy even more deadly than the vast, forbidding wilderness of the Outback… The Desmond Bagley centenary novel honours the legacy of the bestselling thriller writer with a new adventure featuring Bill Kemp, described by Jeffrey Deaver as ‘part James Bond, part Philip Marlowe, and all hero’. Writer Michael Davies, who completed the first Kemp novel Domino Island for publication nearly 40 years after the author’s death, now weaves an original tale of danger and death under the blistering Australian sun.

It was a simple errand. Collect a package. Save the world. ‘Part James Bond, part Philip Marlowe, and all hero’—Jeffrey Deaver But when Bill Kemp’s contact washes up dead on the frozen banks of the Danube, where the Iron Curtain falls across the map of Europe, he’s thrown into the heart of a dangerous conspiracy that threatens to destabilise the continent. With winter closing in and enemies on all sides, Kemp must risk a daring expedition across the Austrian Alps to Switzerland. His introduction to the dark world of espionage will prove as deadly as those bleak, beautiful mountains. Readers love this series: 'Transports you to the location like a great movie' ????? 'A gripping fast past thriller with plenty of plot twists and turns' ????? 'Taut writing, with plenty of twists and turns. I look forward to much more from Michael Davies' ????? 'What a delight to read old style story telling' ????? 'A damn good thriller that kept me turning the pages right to the end' ?????
Graceful Reading

Graceful Reading

Graceful Reading offers a new way of understanding Bunyan's theology and his narrative art, examining and reassessing the complex and interdependent relationship between them. Michael Davies begins by proposing that Bunyan's theology is far from obsessed with the forbidding Calvinist doctrine of predestination and its corollary tendency towards painful introspection. Bunyan's is, rather, a comfortable doctrine, in which the believer is encouraged to accept salvation through the far more assuring terms of Bunyan's covenant theology - those of faith and grace. The book then reassesses how Bunyan's narrative style is informed by this theology. Works such as Grace Abounding and The Pilgrim's Progress reveal a profound sensitivity to narrative forms and reading practices, as they aim to inculcate in their readers a self-consciousness about reading itself which is instrumental in the very process of spiritual instruction, in seeing 'things unseen'. This is a study, therefore, which asserts a radically different way of reading of Bunyan's writings, both through the terms of seventeenth-century covenant theology, and through some distinctly 'postmodernist' ideas about narrative practice.

Prior to Vatican II, 80% of young people leaving Catholic schools practised the faith, today, 3% do. The much vaunted New Pentecost is seemingly no quite so awesome as the first. This catastrophic collapse is primarily the result of the heresy of Modernism, which has seeped into the Church's blood stream like AIDs, sapping her vitality and reducing her to a shadow of her former self. Since Vatican II, with one or two honourable exceptions, Western sees have been filled by Rome with dreary, vacuous, bog-standard Modernists. Under the leadership of these men, Christ Body in the British Isles, and elsewhere, has simply haemorrhaged away? It is also no coincidence that the horribly sex-abuse scandals, mostly perpetrated by predatory sodomites, occurred on their watch. To cure a disease, one must first understand it. In this booklet, Michael Davies uses his scholarship to lucidly expose the nature of this deadly virus in terms that all can understand.By Graham MoorhouseChairman, PEEP
