During a cross-country run, the three friends take a short cut and stumble into the cadet rifle range. Corps Sergeant Sleeth puts them through a degrading punishment using human excrement. The three juniors swear a blood oath never to allow another bully to abuse them. Will this oath be their downfall, or will they make it through the school year? I take this time to dedicate this book of poems to my children, family, friends, and to those who may be reading this, wherever you are. As this will be my last work of poetry so that you may have something worth remembering me by, as I have nothing of worth to give. If I live another year, I will be thankful. If I live another five, I will be grateful, and if I live to see old age, I will have been blessed, as I have been for the forty-four years of the life that God has given me. I cannot fully explain as to what I am going through at this time. Only that it is a low, lonely, ominous cloud which now hangs over my head, the feeling is cold and foreboding. It is a feeling that I can only express through my words.
