Her family drives to a store in a beautiful neighborhood far from where they live. As they arrive at the grocery store, the family is confronted by an angry man who does not want them there. The man's despicable behavior traumatizes Nova, and she wants to go back to her neighborhood.This racist experience allowed Nova's parents to help her recognize and confront racism. I Did It In 2020 seeks to inspire the readers to appreciate the positive things they accomplished during the pandemic and other challenging times. Although Nova's mother initiates the challenge and makes suggestions, it is Nova that comes up with fun ways to beat boredom and at the same time bring love and positivity to her community. Accomplishing these tasks makes Nova proud. She learns a lot about herself, and she is inspired to take her goals beyond the list

In, A Thanks Big Enough, Nova gives homage to essential workers that help keep us safe, healthy, and functioning during unprecedented times. From first responders to last responders and every worker in-between, she looks at the importance of their roles. After examining the workers' roles, Nova realizes that they all make outstanding contributions and feels like there is no way to say thank you in a way significant enough to show how much they are appreciated.She is inspired to do something creative to show her appreciation. However, she feels like making a card will not say enough to express her gratitude, so she explores ways to pay her gratitude forward by helping others and being kind. This thank you note in the form of a children's book is suitable for all ages. It teaches gratitude and appreciation while recognizing how essential workers risked their lives and safety to help others.
