Love is a subject as old as humanity itself. Countless volumes have been written on love; classifying, categorizing, analyzing and dissecting it. And yet, love remains as incomprehensible as ever. These poems are my attempt to understand love; a love that is pure and unblemished; a love that is serene yet mischievous, uncompromising yet fluid, unyielding yet caring, exacting yet joyous. These poems are presented in the chronological order they were written. Love's promises are always dangerous Outcomes are perpetually in suspense The good and the bad, the metric of the world Invariably loses, its meaning Cruel is caring, supporting suffocating Critical is kind, annoying endearing To judge it by words, devoid of the context Is to remain unaware, of its true nature
Translated from the back cover] "Every moment of life is, filled with struggle Only wounded souls, appear in this world" Only wounded souls (Aahat Atmaen) take birth on this earth. Souls; pure, sacred and without blemish, which are without likes-dislikes, hatred, ego, anger or passions have already reached their destination. They have no more need for this earth. Every soul that takes birth on this earth is wounded in some form or other, whether only slightly or severely. Troubled by wounds, every soul is trying to become whole. Success is neither hard nor easy, only depends upon efforts. When thoughts and actions become restful, a soul automatically reaches its destination. Otherwise, the cycle continues through many-many births.
Translated from the back cover] Standing in front of Shiva Parvati poses a question thus "Please explain, O Lord Why is human life the best?" Riding on a wave of constantly evolving emotions, every life goes through cycles of pleasure-and-hardship, happiness-and-sorrow, victory-and-defeat, success-and-failure. Neither success is eternal, nor sorrow. Neither hardship is forever, nor victory. Caught in the currents of emotions from birth until death, we continuously face many challenges. Whatever the outcome, we remain incapable of understanding life's true meaning, why? The poems presented here are an attempt to understand this question.

What can one say about the divine play (lila) of Lord Krishna? Various scriptures and the experiences of many siddhas and rishis are replete with the glorious descriptions of His various lilas. Whether sporting with the gopies or destruction of demons, in the battle of mahabharata or welcoming Sudama in Dwarika; there is always a message for the world. The collection of poems presented here describe some of these lilas, some in a traditional manner and some in a new light.
Shri Krishna is Parambrahm. He is the source of all knowledge and the Supreme Lord of the Universe. He pervades in every atom of the universe. During His incarnation on the earth, He engaged in various lilas. Of all His lilas, His Braj Lilas are the most enchanting and uplifting. A number of these lilas are presented here in a verse form.
What we consider quiet is rarely quiet. Even when the world without has nothing to distract, the world within is constantly churning. This quiet chaos gives rise to a whole new world, as real as the world without. Presented here are a few reflections on a variety of topics, some based on the events of the day, others just musings of the mind from a time unknown.
(From the Back cover) A fog is nature's way of saying, there is still work to be done before the path becomes clear. When it happens on a rainy morning, nature also clears it up after a while. However, often we walk through the life in the same foggy state without knowing when this fog would clear, yet we have to continue on the journey. Fog distorts and twists the reality. Many lives we have spent walking through this fog. Will a time come when this fog will clear or are we trapped in this foggy state forever?
