In 1953 Briton Brian Miller enlists in The French Foreign Legion as a way to eliminate the pain that lingers from previous lovers and wars. As a result of this he finds himself catapulted into the chaos of French Indochina (Vietnam). During his posting he falls in love with a beautiful Vietnamese girl, Dai Long. Their love becomes strong and passionate - but Dai Long has a sister called Kim Ly, who is betrayal-personified and will stop at nothing to destroy their relationship. With the French Indochinese War raging in the background between the Viet Minh (Vietnamese Nationalist Guerrillas) and French Colonial Forces - Miller's tale is one of fated love and bitter betrayal, before his final destiny waits for him and for France on the battlefield of Dien Bien Phu.

A painting depicting biblical events of The Temptation of Christ haunts a boy, Samuel Morgan. In addition, Morgan's involvement in the Occult with Alan Wilson, an insane witchcraft scientist has unleashed a terrifying demon. Samuel's mother, Marilyn Morgan, a successful Pharmaceutical director demands help from psychiatrists and doctors in order to cure her son - who now suffers from demonic possession. Their help though is ineffective. She then seeks out a priest, Reverend Stephen Mason and begs for assistance. He agrees, but first he must fight faltering faith and troubling doubts about Gods, before commencing an Exorcism on Holy Ground to drive out the demon Beelphegor that resides in the boy.

She uses malevolent visions about World War II, Adolf Hitler, and Mankind's most evil deeds to disturb Jonathon-and her ethereal voice manipulates radio signals from The BBC World Service-carrying them from the world of the dead and into the world of the living. Then her sinister appearance emerges in mirrors and the dark shadows of the night. Deeply troubled Jonathon seeks out a psychologist, Dr. Elizabeth Matthews. She becomes fascinated with Jonathon's case and is drawn into proceedings. And so with darkened atmospheric centrepieces and disturbing visions becoming more profound, both are hurtled into a web of diabolical secrets, murder, doomed love, and are left wondering if either of them can survive the evil ghostly entity, Tabitha Bates.
