Sophie Scholl (1921-1943) was a courageous, young university student in Germany during WWII. She, along with her brother and friends, distributed leaflets in protest of fascism and the evils of Nazism. Knowing the dangers, and ultimately facing the consequences, she demonstrated strength by becoming part of the resistance to fight fascism. This Sophie Scholl paper doll book comes with one paper doll that stands approximately 8.5" tall, seven outfits, three of which are based on clothes she wore in her photographs, an attached stand, and an envelope to store the doll and clothes. Shirley Chisholm was the first woman to run for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, she was the first black candidate to run for a major party's nomination for President of the United States, and she was the first black woman elected to the United States Congress.
