This book complements an earlier volume, Images of Maldon and Heybridge, and provides an intriguing insight into the history of the area with over 200 images of photographs, postcards and other printed material. The reader is taken through the history of Maldon and the Dengie Hundred from the end of the Victorian era, through the First World War to te 1920s and '30s, when Maldon was promoting itself as ideal for holidays, health and beauty - 'The Pearl of East Coast Estuary Towns'. It ends with the Second World War during which so many local citizens, both in towns and countryside, played vital roles on the Home Front. Developments at Heybridge, the Basin, Mill Beach and Osea Island are covered and a trip by steam train is taken, via Maldon West, to the villages of the Dengie Hundred. Selected from the archives of the Maldon District Museum and the author's own postcard collection, this splendid pictorial record will help tell the stories of fifty years and stir nostalgic memories for all those who know and remember the area, whilst providing newcomers with a glimpse of the area's past.

Liam Carpenter spends most of his time above his aunt's garage, watching obscure horror movies and drinking cheap beer. But this week's different. This week, things are getting weird. First, there's his favorite director, Clive Sherman, showing up in town unannounced. Then there's the string of murders that all seem like something out of Clive's popular Pigfoot movie monster franchise. Throw in Liam's mysterious new crush and the cough-syrup-addicted private investigator chasing her down and you might gain somewhat of a clue of what's going on in Bass Falls lately. And don't even get him started on she-demons and blood sacrifices. Bone Saw studios is in town and they're bringing you the bloodiest sequel featuring a pig-human hybrid killing machine you've ever seen.

Welcome to So Bad, So Good, YouTube's most successful channel dedicated to trash cinema. This week, we'll be watching and discussing the elusive horror flick Creepies. Some say the film is cursed, that its cast members died in unusual ways. Others claim the writers, producers, and directors have gone into hiding because of the movie's macabre reputation. Countless viewers have experienced flashbacks to scenes within the film, as if they themselves were characters. But surely those are just rumors, right? Let's fire up the VCR and find out. Grab some popcorn, crack open a cold one, and ignore the scratching in the walls.
