This visually immersive work of graphic non-fiction dives into a world where ants, cicadas, bees and butterflies visit a library exhibition that displays their stories and humanity’s connection to them throughout the ages. Kuper’s thrilling visual feast layers history and science, colour and design, to tell the remarkable tales of dung beetles navigating by the stars, hawk-size prehistoric dragonflies hunting prey and mosquitoes changing the course of human history. Kuper also illuminates pioneering naturalists, from well-known figures like E. O. Wilson and Rachel Carson to unheralded luminaries like Charles Henry Turner, the Black American scholar who documented arthropod intelligence and Maria Sybilla Merian, the seventeenth-century German regarded as the mother of entomology. Galvanised by the sixth extinction and the ongoing insect crisis, Kuper takes readers on an unforgettable journey.

Colour the beautiful and mind-bending art from Peter Kuper’s epic graphic work Insectopolis. When lockdown arrived in 2020, Kuper was a Cullman Centre Fellow at the New York Public Library, where he was studying insects. Virtually alone in the empty library, he visualised the insects surging through the apocalyptic, deserted halls of the historic building. This inspired the whimsical world of Insectopolis, where monarchs fly through the library, dragonflies explore marble staircases, and worker bees peruse museum exhibits. Now all these scenes and more are available as colouring pages in Coloring Insectopolis, so readers can make Kuper’s world come alive. Kuper’s recognisable style can be seen in his cartoons that regularly appear in The New Yorker, Nation, and New York Times. Full of his signature creativity, Coloring Insectopolis is a new way for readers to interact with Kuper’s inventive artwork and give each image their own colourful twist.

It has been said that the flutter of insect wings in the Indian Ocean can send a hurricane crashing against the shores of the American Northeast, and such a premise lies at the core of "The System," a wordless graphic novel created and painted by award-winning illustrator Peter Kuper. A sleazy stockbroker is lining his pockets, a corrupt cop is shaking down drug dealers, a mercenary bomber is setting the timer, a serial killer is stalking strippers, a political scandal is about to explode, the planet is burning, and nobody s talking. Told without captions or dialogue, this piece of art is an astonishing progression of vivid imagery, each brilliantly executed panel contains layer upon layer of information that forms a vast and intricate tour of an ominous world of coincidences and consequences."

A story of love, adventure, and politics—and two lives changed forever by Mexico and the monarch butterfly Samantha and George are about to launch into a sabbatical year in the quaint Mexican town of Oaxaca. For Samantha, their journey to this historic town is about fulfilling a lifelong dream; for George, it is an unsettling step into the unknown. As the couple embark on their adventure, a monarch butterfly begins its arduous migration south from the United States to Mexico . . . It is a challenging journey—a flight that requires remarkable endurance and a will to survive. Beneath Oaxaca’s picturesque and serene veneer—the 16th-century architecture, the nearby ruins—it is a town shaken to the core by political unrest. As the monarch butterfly makes its challenging journey south, political events threaten to change the town forever. What’s more, personal events look like they will alter the paths of Samantha and George for good. Ruins masterfully captures the shadows and light of a troubled country steeped in history and culture, weaving together personal, political and natural dramas into a thrilling portrait of life south of the Rio Grande.

A 48-page color-in story about the monarch butterfly, its migration, and the environmental challenges it faces along the way Monarch's Journey distinguishes itself from other coloring books through its narrative: the plight of the monarch butterfly as it struggles to navigate and survive the environmental changes of our modern world. Drawing upon Eisner-winner Peter Kuper's legacy as a cartoonist and insect conservation advocate, Monarch's Journey is a visual, interactive parable for adults and children alike that speaks to the perseverance needed to survive in the natural world and our role in influencing it.
Rockmagazinet Rolling Stone utnämnde honom till ”Hot Cartoonist of 1995”.
