This is a guide designed for people taking the Amateur Swimming Association's Assistant Teacher course, providing material on all aspects of the subject such as: teaching skills and lesson planning, working with non-swimmers, the scientific principles of swimming, swimming techniques and practices, survival skills and the club swimmer.

Liverpool's strong links with aviation developed during the First World War, with many local firms becoming involved in aircraft contruction. Commercial flying really began at Liverpool when a municipal aerodrome was established at Speke.
