All of us have felt alone, right? Maybe we feel different than everyone else - and, maybe, we were born different from everyone else. That can be really hard. Jane has been experiencing this, too. She's the only square in her school and some of the other kids are being mean to her, just because she's a square. One day, though, she meets a friend that helps her see things differently, and her life is changed. With ever-increasing amounts of prejudice and hatred in our society, The Lonely Square is a harsh reality for many kids (and adults). This book seeks to foster discussions about important, life-altering issues. We must break down the walls of discrimination and Jane's story is, hopefully, just the beginning.
