This book was written with one primary goal in mind: That it might be used as a tool to help us to more easily talk of Christ, rejoice in Christ, preach of Christ, prophesy of Christ, and write according to our prophecies, that our children might know to what source they must look for a remission of their sins. (See 2 Nephi 25:26).
We cannot expect to comprehend the language of the Spirit until we have paid the price. We may dismiss its whisperings as nothing more than a breeze that causes a gentle rustle of the leaves. It may sound pleasant to our ears, but its quiet counsel will remain maddeningly elusive until we have done all that we can to merit the companionship of the Holy Ghost.

We await the further light and knowledge He has promised to send us that would illuminate our lives through the torrent of continuing revelation flowing from a well of living water. We send our taproots down into the rich loam of Gospel topsoil.
First, it was the Holy Sabbath, and then the Sabbath; then Sunday, and now it is just the weekend. But, in the process, we have sown the wind, and now we shall reap the whirlwind. We must ask ourselves: Where will our sanctuary be when the wind blows and the rain beats down? To what safe harbors will we flee when the oceans of life are in turmoil? When we are tossed about as flotsam and jetsam, never coming to a knowledge of the truth, to what sources will we look for the stability we so desperately seek, or for the answers to the greatest questions in life that trouble our spirits?
