After falling asleep on the icepack on an island just off the coast of Norway Einar the polar bear eventually wakes up to find that his bed of snow and ice has drifted far out to sea. The floating iceberg eventually stops weeks later when it reaches Anglesey in Wales. After scrambling ashore Einar suddenly finds himself in a strange land with animals that he had never seen before. He makes friends with a flock of sheep as well as the family that owns the farm. During his time living on the farm he saves a flock of sheep from thieves. Comes to the aid of a crew on a fishing trawler as it starts to sink. He saves a little boy from a vicious dog and helps another polar bear to escape from a cruel circus.
